versary Wednesday. May 12.
Several friends gathered at the
home of his son, Glenn White,
that evening to help celebrate
the event.
Those present were Mr. and
Mrs Paul Fisher. Elaine and
Dorothy; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde
Burge, Lois, Robert. Joyce and
Bruce; Mrs. Julia Kamphaus
and boys; Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Burgett, Viona and Wayne: Mr.
and Mrs. Milton Clemens. Jean
ette and Donnie, and Mr. and
Mrs. Ed White.
A luncheon of cake and jell-o
was served.

Roy Andersen came from Al
da Saturday to get his wife and
little son, Lloyd, who had spent
the past two weeks here with
Mrs. Edith Andersen.
The Amelia school and the
school taught by Miss Zoellyn
Gilman closed the' 1953-’54 term
Friday with a joint picnic at
the Amelia school.
Miss Evelyn Thompson and
pupils had a last day of school
picnic at Burweli park Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Art Retzlaff and
family of Lynch visited his par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Retzlaff,
Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Everett Smith
of North Platte visited at the B.
W. Waldo home Friday. Mrs.
Smith, who is Mrs. Waldo’s sis
ter, recently won an electric re
frigerator. A company represent
ative called at their door and
asked if they were users of the
fum’s coffee. Upon receiving an
affirmative reply, he then told
her if she could answer one
question correctly, she would re
ceive a valuable prize. The
question was, “What country
uses the franc as money?”
Mr. and Mrs. Irven Forbes
and Donna, accompanied by her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. W.
Baab, and grandmother, Mrs.
Hitchcock of Atkinson, drove
to Osmond Sunday to visit Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Smith and
family. Mrs. Smith is Mrs.
1 orbes’ sister.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn White and
Venita and “Grandpa” White
plan to leave Saturday to attend
graduation exercises a t Mc
Pherson, Kans. Their daughter,
Myrtle, is one of the graduating
class. They will go from there to
Denver, Colo., to visit Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Milton. “Grandpa”
White will stay there while the
others go on to Seattle, Wash.,
to visit their daughter, Mrs.
Kay (Glenice) Joy, and Mr. Joy.
Kay will also be graduated from
the college there.

They completed making flowers
and appointed members to dec
orate the graves of their de
ceased members on memorial
day. Dish towels were prepared
for embroidering. A covered
dish lunch was served. Mrs.
George Park will entertain on
May 26.
Practice Tonight—
A good-sized crowd was on •
hand Sunday for the regular
O’Neill Saddle club practice
session at the club grounds. Next
regular practice will be held to
night (Thursday). The roping
group met Tuesday evening.
