She had been visting her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Mc Carville, jr. and their family. Mrs. D. C. Schaffer returned by plane to Grand Island Wed nesday. She has been visiting in Washington state for the past month. Mr. Schaffer met her in Grand Island. Mrs. Fannie Ernst, who has been staying at the home of her sister, Mrs. Emma Lawrence, since her dismissal from St. An thony’s, returned to her own home Monday. Henry Bruhn of North Platte, who is employed by the state game commission at Valentine, visited his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Tomlinson, Mopday. He was aking fish to the state lake at Spalding. Richard Minton, jr., Pn-2 USN, arrived Monday to visit his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Min ton. He had been stationed aboard the USS Badoeng Strait at San Diego, Calif. He will leave May 19 for San Francisco, Calif., where he will report aboaij the USS Gardner Bay. William J. Riege Burial at Norfolk Resides 20 Years at Page PAGE— Funeral services for William J. Riege, 83, were held at 2 pm., Friday, April 13, at Grace Lutheran church at Nor folk. The church pastor, Rev. A. G. Deke, officiated. Mr. Riege was bom October 23, 1870, at Plattsville, Wise., and died at his home at Norfolk Tuesday, April 27. He was mar ried April 4, 1895, to Malinda Melchior of Nebraska City. To this union one daughter and seven sons were bom. His early married life was spent farming near Syracuse. In 1923, Mr. and Mrs. Riege moved to a farm near Page where they lived for 20 years when they retired and moved to Norfolk. Survivors include: Daughter— Mrs. Art (Edna) Helmricks of Ft. Collins, Colo.; sons— Ralph and William, jr., both of Nor folk; Richard of Unadilla; Les ter and Lorenze, both of Page, and Verne of Orchard; 10 grand children; one great - grandchild; brother—Ernest of Syracuse. He was preceded in death by his wife, who died in 1946, and also by one son. Among those from Page at tending the funeral services were his two sons and families— Mr .and Mrs. Lester Riege and Bonnie and Mr. and Mrs. Lor enze Riege and Connie; also Mr. and Mrs. Ray Snell, Mr. and Mrs. Robert.
