Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brostrom and Brady spent the weekend in Grand Island visiting in the Conrad Benner home. Mr^ and Mrs. Leland Finley entertained their pinochle club Saturday evening at their home. Farns worth returned home Saturday afternoon from Florida where they had spent several weeks. A.bout two months ago they went to Hot Springs, Ark. After staying there two weeks they went to Jacksonville, Fla., where they visited relatives for several days. From there they went to Orlando where they spent the rest of the winter. Members of the MYF are lanning a sunrise breakfast Easter morning at the Harley Kennedy farm. Mr. Kennedy will be the sponsor. They are Larry Parks, Dean Taylor, Jerry White and Dick Stewart. Lunch was served after the meeting. The boys in school district 110 enjoyed a ball game Friday af ternoon with the boys from dis trict 39. The 39’ers came out vic torious. Family Dinner— AMELIA— Mrs. Jim Bilstiea entertained members of her fam ily at dinner Sunday. Those present were her mother, Mrs. Elmer Enbody of Winlock, Wash., her sisters, Mrs. Jack Eggleston of Douglas, Wyo., Mrs. Tommie Doolittle, and family of Amelia. Mrs. Enbody left on Tuesday morning for her home at Win lock. Conley . . . wed in church rile at Chambers.—O'Neill Photo Co. . . i « « « Lela Corcoran Weds Hiram Conley CHAMBERS — Pink carna tions and white gladiolas deco orated the altar of the Metho dist church at Chambers Sunday for the wedding of Lela Grimes Corcoran, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Grimes of Chambers, and Hiram E. Conley, son of Dr. and Mrs. S. L. Conley of Black duck, Minn. Rev. L. R. Hansberry officiat ed at the double-ring ceremony at 3 o’clock. Stanley Lambert sang “O Perfect Love” and ‘‘The Lord’s Prayer,” accompanied by Miss Kathryn Newhouse of Ne ligh, who played a prelude of piano selections and the wed ding marches. Given in marriage by her fa ther, the bride wore a blush pink lace and tulle gown styled with a peter pan collar. The fit ted bodice of lace and the long tapered sleeves were buttoned with self-covered buttons. The waltz-length skirt was pleated rylon tulle over satin. She wore a matching lace cap trimmed with two rows of seed pearls and carried a lavender orchid on a white Bible. She also wore pearl earrings, a gift from the bridegroom. Matron.- of - honor was Mrs Loran Qpppoc of Ottumwa, la., sister of the bride. She was at tired in a waltz-length gown of white lace and net over blue taffeta with a matching head band, and carried an ivoTy fan with two lavender baby orchids. The fan had belonged her aunt, Miss Jennie Adams, a mission ary nurse, and is now a posses sion of the bride. Carol Coppoc of Ottumwa was flower girl. She was dressed in a waltz-length gown of blue net over white taffeta and carried a basket of pink carnations. Milton Grimes of Omaha, brother of the bride, was best man. Dr. Loran E. Coppoc of Ot tumwa was the usher. The men all wore navy blue suits. Following the ceremony a re ception was held in the church parlors. The four-tier cake was cut by Mrs. Arthur Walters. Mrs. Milton Grimes poured. Serving the bridal table were the Misses Dorine Gleed and Mary Ellen Gillette. Helping with the serving were Mrs. T. E. Newhouse, Mrs. Charles Grimes, Mrs. W. H. Woods, Mrs. G. H. Grimes and Mrs. Lloyd Gleed. drs. Milton Grimes of Omaha had charge of the guest book and Mrs. Harlan Dierking cf Amelia the gift table. The bride gradhated from the Chaembers high school, Boyles business college in Omaha and attended Morningside college, Sioux City. She has been em ployed by the Chambers Sta*e bank and Julius D. Cronin of O’Neill. The bridegroom is a graduate of the Bemidji, Minn., State college and University of Minnesota school of mortuary science. The couple left for an extended trip to Colorado, Ari zona and California. Out-of-town guests were Dr. and Mrs. L. E. Coppoc of Ottum wa, la., Mr. and Mrs. Milton. Grimes of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Ellis of St. Edward, Mr. and Mrs. Leo T. Adams of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Turn er and sons of Grand Island and Mr. and Mrs. Don Prill and Maureen of Page. Capacity Crowd Witnesses Play CHAMBERS — A capacity crowd filled the Chambers high school auditorium Friday eve ning for the senior class play, ‘Ghostly Fingers,” a mystery comedy. Participating in the play were: Lorraine Farrier, Lois Mikkel sr.n, Kathryn Hoffman, Roger Harley, Vivian Harley, Eugene Adams, Marilyn Walter, Clifford Walter, Betty Gartner, James Tangeman, Ronald Haake end Arthur Urban. A trio composed of Marilyn Walter, Kathryn Hoffman and Vivian Harley sang. O'NEILL LOCALS Mrs. M. P. Sullivan will leave Thursday (today) for Holyoke, Colo., to attend the wedding of her niece, Miss Lois Evelyn Tucker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester V. Tucker. Dr. and Mrs. H. D. Gilder sleeve, Kathie and Philip spent last Thursday and Friday in Om aha. While there Doctor Gilder sleeve attended a seminar on contact lenses. Lynch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Brittell of O’Neill, recently arrived here with his England-born bride, the former Dorothy Walker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Walker of Huntingdon, Hunts., Eng. They are pictured emerg ing from St. Ives Anglican church, Huntingdon, on their wed ding day — December 26, 1952. Mrs. Lynch was a drug store manager. Sergeant Lynch was stationed in England three years with the air force. o Ewing News Guests on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Kaczor were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Latzel and Debbie. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Regan and sons went to Norfolk on Monday to call on Mr. and A. B. McKay, former residents of Ewing. Lyle Dierks went t o Alliance on Sunday, transacting business the (following day. He was ac companied by Dewey C. Schaffer and James W. Rooney of O’Neill. Lyle Spence, accompanied his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Spence of Atkinson, went to Omaha on Sunday to attend the ice capades. Mi and Mrs. Andrew Olson went to Stanton on Sunday to to spend the day with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. Greer Clark, and family. Other members of the Olson family present were Mr. and Mrs. Allan York and family, Mrs Oscar Wilson and daughter, Mardelle, Mr. and Mrs. Merwin Olson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Durward Lough rey and children drove to Orch ard where they were guests at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Schwager. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rotherham have received word from their sen, Cpl. Vincent Rotherham, stating that he left Korea for the United States on April 5. He has been stationed in Korea for several monuis. Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Larsen had as their weekend guests his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Larsen of Alzada, Mont., and Mrs. Ida Kemnitz of Wood, S. D. On Sunday after neon, the Larsen’s took their guests to Ft. Randall, S. D., for a sightseeing trip. On Monday, Mr. and Mrs. Larsen left for their home in Montana and Mrs. Kemmitz departed for her home at Wood, after visiting since Thursday at the Larsen home here. Weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Edwards were her mother, Mrs. Dora Shipp of Harlan, la., and Roy Brogart of Fremont. Mrs. Bogart and son, Tommy, who came March 30 to visit at the Edwards home, re turned to Fremont with her hus band Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Muff and daughter, Barbara Sue, were guests on Wednesday, March 3>1, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Jefferies. Mrs. Rose Harding of O’Neill was a weekend guest at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Hobbs. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Spangler and children spent the weekend in Omaha where they were over night guests at the home of her brother, Lyle Grafft and family.
