(Photo at right)
Miss Ethel Mae Summers,

son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Strong of Chambe-s, on Satur
day evening, March 20, at the

mony took place in candlelight
at 7 o’clock with Rev. Melvin H.
Grosenbach officiating.
The candlelighters were Miss
Mary Jane Summers, sister of
the bride, and Miss DeMaris
Strong, sister of the bridegroom.
Miss Vera Ernst of O’Neiil

ert Hendricks of Atkinson sang
“I Love You Truly.” They were
accompanied by Miss Lois
Strong, sister of the bridegroom.
The bride appeared in a white
gown featuring a fitted lace bod
ice of chantilly lace and a nylon
net skirt over taffeta with a lace
insert. The long sleeves tapeied
over the wrists. A small peter
pan collar finished the neckline
and tiny covered buttons extend
ed down the back. Her double
illusion veil of waist length was
of nylon net and was held in
place by a lace crown trimmed
with satin and seed pearls. She
carried out the tradition of some
thing old, something new, some
thing borrowed and something
blue.
The bridesmaid was Miss
Katherine Summers and the ma
tron-of-honor was Mrs. Boyd
Ressel, sisters of the bride. They
wore identical ballerina length
gowns of blue. They were fash
ioned with a fitted lace bodice,
a net over taffeta skirt and a net
sioie.
The bridegroom was attended
by Donald Strong, brother of tne
bridegroom, and Lyle Hornbaek.
The bridegroom wore a suit of
medium blue.
The mother of the bride wore
& black fialle suit with white ac
cessories. The mother of the
bridegroom wore a grey suit.
Both wore deep pink rose cor
sages.
The ushers were Glenn Lorenz
and Boyd Ressel, brothers-in
law of the bride. Mrs. Glenn Lor
enz, sister of the bride, had
charge of the guestbook. Mrs
Walter Anson and Miss Esther
Dick had charge of the gifts.
A reception for 125 relatives
and friends was held in the
church. The bride’s table was
centered with a five-tier wed
ding cake, topped by a minia
ture bride and bridegroom and
decorated with deep pink roses
and white bells. The candles
were pink and white. The cake
was baked and decorat el by Mrs.
Glenn Lorenz and Mrs. Rcbeit
Cook. Others who helped with
the reception were Mrs. Robert,
Hendricks, Miss Donna Sum- j
mers, Miss DeMaris Strong, Miss]
lone Ernst and Mrs. Norma

taught in a rural school near At
kinson. The bridegroom graduat
ed from the Miltonvale academy,
Miltonvale, Kans., in 1953.
