Weekly Market Report
of
The Atkinson Livestock Market
Atkinson. Nebraska
Tuesday, Feb. 9th, Auction
Tuesday’s run of cattle was about 209r larger than an
ticipated — 1542 head were sold. The market was an active
one but a little uneven. The steer calves looked fully steady
with last week’s good market. However, they lacked the ex
treme top end which we had a week ago. About 21.00 to 22.10
caught most of th large groups of steers while the plainer
kinds brought 19.00 to 20.50. The heifer calves looked fully
50 cents cwt. lower. 13.50 was the best price paid on some
lightweights but the bulk of them sold between 17.00 and
18.00 cwt.
Yearling steers weren’t as plentiful as a week ago—but
prices were good—the better kinds 21.00 to 22.00 with a load
of light yearlings bringing the latter price. Real good kinds
were bringing 19.00 to 20.25, plainer kinds on down to 16.00
cwt. The yearling heifer market was a little slow—15.00 to
16.50 bought the best of the day.
Prices on breeding cows were 10.00 to la.00 per head low
er than a week ago but no large strings of quality Cows were
offered.
Possibly the best mark up of the day was registered on
the canner and cutter cows. They appeared mainly 50 to 75
cents cwt. higher, 9.00 to 10.00 cwt. Beef cows mostly steady,
10.50 to 12.25 cwt. Bologna bulls brought from 10.50 to 11.75.
Next Auction Feb. 16ih. It looks like another good sale,
weather permitting. Try us with your next consignment—the
returns will please you.

"You see, we have a new
McCormick power washing
cream separator. Now, when
Dad finishes separating, I
don’t have to take the sep
arator apart. Instead, I just
pour clean water into the
supply can.
"In only 3 minutes the
separator washes, sterilizes
and dries itself. And, it’s
cleaner and dryer than if I’d
scrubbed each disc by hand.
So, now with no more hand
scrubbing, I’ve lots more time
for myself.”
This is typical of state
ments made about the new
McCormick power washing
cream separator by hundreds
of farm wives across the
country. Come in and see the
only cream separator that uses
its own power to wash itself
sparkling clean!
