It was about the same story as a week ago, the quality of the cattle was extremely good and prices generally higher. Choice yearling steers and calves predominated in the run. Most of the yearling steers looked $1,00 to $2.00 cwt. up from last Tuesday’s sale. Yearling heifers v ere scarce but $14.50 to $16.50 cwt. was the selling range. No older cattle were offered and only a few breeding cows which topped at $139.50 per head. Canners and cutters were selling from $7.50 to $9.50 cwt. Good to choice beef cows $10.00 to $11.50 while the bologna bulls were bringing anywhere from $10.50 to $13.00 cwt. Next Auction will be Tuesday, Jan. 19th.
