day. We sold 984 head and the quality was the best since
fall. Buyers were really picking off the replacement cattle
at prices $1.00 to $2.00 cwt. better than the last sale in 1953.

In the yearling class of cattle no load lots were present
but the quality of the small bunches was exceptionally good
and the demand far exceeded the supply.
Two nice strings of fleshy yearling steers sold for $19.25
and $18.55, weighing 710 and 630 respectively.
The bulk of the good to choice fat cows and heiferettes
sold in a price range of $10.00 to $12.50. Canners and cutters
$8.00 to $10.00 with only the extreme shelly kinds under $7.50. !
Bologna bulls $11.00 to $13.00, fully $1.25 cwt. better than last
Tuesday’s sale.

came Wednesday, December 30,
and returned to her nurse’s train
ing on Sunday.
Jacqueline Taggart of Omaha
came on Christmas eve and spent
until Sunday, December 27, with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. W.
Taggart, and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Beed and son
of Lincoln spent a few days at
Christmas time with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Beed, and fam
ily and her father, George Porter,
Norman Walter left Monday
for St. Louis, Mo., to resume his
studies at Concordia seminary
after spending a week with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Walt
er, and other relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tange
man and Miss Alice Johnson
returned home Saturday from
Marysville, Calif., where they
had spent Christmas with their
son-in-law and daughter, Mr and
Mrs. Vernon Schmidt. They
spent new year's with their
daughter, Doreen Tangeman. at
Denver, Colo.
