[Official Proceedings of the
HOLT CO. BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
_
O’Neill, Nebr.
Oct. 28, 1953
10:00 A.M.
Holt County Board of Super
visors met as per adjournment.
All members present.
Meeting called to order by the
Chairman.
Minutes of the previous meet
ing were read and approved as
read.
The Boyd County Supervisors,
their County Attorney, and rep
resentatives of Consumers Pub
lic Power District, their attor
ney, met with the Holt County
Board of Supervisors at this
time, in regard to the old bridge
across the Niobrara River on
Highway No. 281, that has been
abandoned by the State Highway
Department. The Consumers
Public Power District asked for
the privilege of crossing this
bridge. It was agreed that since
it had been part of the State
Highway, they should contact
the State Department in regard
to this matter and that in order
to protect the public the two
counties would place signs on
each side of the bridge inform
ing the Public that the bridge is
closed. Consumers Public Power
1 District would then place a gate
at each end of the bridge, which
would be kept locked. This
would make a private bridge of
it for Consumers. They will be
responsible for it if the State
gives them permission to use it.
12:00 Noon. On motion the
Board adjourned until 1:00 P.M.

your telephone company
To help you share holiday happiness with
friends and family away from home, your
telephone operators will be on duty throughout
the holidays including Christmas Eve and Christmas
Day. You can depend on their usual helpfulness
in putting through your Long Distance calls—the
same friendly spirit of service that is a tradition
with telephone people on every day of the year.
Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.
...AT YOUR HOUSE
Only to keep out Jack Frost do you close your doors
at Christmas time. The holly wreath on your door says,
"It’s Christmas . . . welcome all!” This is the
spirit of the Yuletide in America.
Families gather for the celebration ... old friendships
are renewed . . . new friendships made. And all through the
colorful tapestry of holiday events runs the golden thread
of the children’s excitement and happiness.
This is the season when memories are unpacked,
polished and displayed by the firelight. And in the glow
of that same Yule log are bom the cherished sentiments
. which make the memories of tomorrow.
'T'
Our wish for you this Christmas is that you may
find your memories of Christmases past bright
and untarnished . . . and that this Christmas
will last forever in your memory.
