at the Page Wesleyan Methodist
church.

vember 25, and visited with their
son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Undine, and family
until Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Paul of Mis
souri Valley, la., were overnight
guests Friday of Mr. and Mrs.
Neven Ickes, sr.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Asher
and two children of Powell, Wyo ,
came Wednesday, November 25,
and plan to make an extended
visit with their respective parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Neil Asher and Mr.
and Mrs. Harold Heiss, and other
relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Max and
family left Wednesday after
noon, November 25, for Omaha
where they visited the former’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Max,
sr. They returned home Sunday
afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gray and
Veldon, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold
Stewart and Loren and Mr. and
Mrs. J. I. Gray, all of Page, and
Leonard Miller of O’Neill were
guests Sunday at the Arthur Mil
ler home at Chambers.
Mr. and Mrs. Gailord Albright
spent Thnaksgiving day and
were overnight guests of their
son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. C. G. Shane, at Valley. On
Friday they went to Persia, la.,
where Mr. Albright has employ
ment. Mrs. Albright returned to
Page Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wood came
from Lincoln Friday and visited
until Sunday with their two
daughters, Mrs. Calvin Harvey
and Mrs. Kennpth Asher. and
their families, their son, Noel,
and Mrs. Wood’s mother, Mrs.
Hester Edmisten.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Stein
berg entertained the Pinochle
club at their home Saturday eve
ning. Mr. and Mrs. James Finley
were guests and joined the club.
High score prizes went to Mrs.
William Wattermann and James
Finley and the low to Neoma
Wattermann and Leland Finley.
A late lunch was served by the
hostess.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Sorensen and
family were dinner guests Sun
day of his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Soren Sorensen, sr. Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Sorensen were celebrating
their wedding anniversary and it
v/as also Bill’s birthday anniver
sary. Robert Sorensen, who at
tends college at Wayne, was also
a Sunday guest of his parents.

were Thanksgiving day dinner
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold

itors and they were all supper
guests that evening.
Warren Klinetobe FN, son of
Mr. and Mrs. William Klinetobe
of Page, arrived home from Pearl
Harbor November 18 for a 30
day leave. On his return back
to duty, he will be on the USS
Nereus instead of the USS Coucai
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Russell
and two daughters of Harvard
came Wednesday, November 25,
and were overnight guests and
spent Thanksgiving with Charles’
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Ttus
sell. Other dinner guests that day
were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Spann
of Atkinson and Willis Russell of
Page. Mr. and Mrs. Russell and
family visited his parents again
on Saturday. They also visited at
the Bill Hibbs home north of
Page and the Ray Siders home at
Inman.
Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Townsend,
sr., had their children and grand
children as their dinner and sup
per guests on Thanksgiving day.
Present were Mr. and Mrs. Alva
Townsend and Mr. and Mrs. J.
L. Blocker and two sons of Co
lumbus, Mr. and Mrs. Gene
Townsend and daughter of Lin
coln, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chmeler

James T. Muller
Heart Victim
Burial at Creighton
for WW 1 Vet
LYNCH—Funeral services for
James T. Muller, sr., 58, were
held Wednesday, November 25,
at the Assumption BVM Catholic
church of Lynch with Rev. John
Wieczorek officiating. Burial
was made in the St. Ludger cem
etery, Creighton, in the family
plot.
Pallbearers were Frank Fisher,
Joe Milacek, Thomas Courtney,
jr., Wayne Christensen, Joe Bir
meier and Audrey Compton.
The late James T. Muller was
born at Winside July 14, 1895,
and died at his home November
20. Death was aue to a heart at
tack.
Mr. Muller is a veteran of
World War I. He was married to
Sarah Neyens July 12, 1925, at
Creighton. To this union were
born six sons and two daughters.
His wife died in 1941.
In 1945, Mr. Muller and sons
moved to a farm northeast of
Lynch.
Survivors include: Sons —
James, jr., of Chicago, 111.; Clay
ton of Pickstown, S.D.; Jake and
Howard, both of Lynch; Thom
as, now serving in the navy;
Francis of Creighton; daughters—
Mary Jo and Marjorie, both of
Creighton; two brothers and
three sisters.
He was a member of the Car
roll-Binkerd post 228 of the Am
erican Legion at Lynch.

day, November 24, to spend the
Thanksgiving day and weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Cobb

Miss Vesta Mitchell came from
Bloomfield Wednesday evening,
November 25, and spent Thanks
giving day with her parents. Mr.
and Mrs. Berlin Mitchell. She
returned Thursday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Burden and
children of Lincoln spent Thanks
giving day with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Wilson.

Omaha to spend the Thanksgiving
vacation with her parents, Mr.

and daughter, Barbara, were call
ed to Blackduck, Minn., Friday,
November 27, by the death of
Jesse Lamb, father of Mrs. Moses.
Tilden Gals Win
Volleyball Tourney—
CLEARWATER —Tilden high
school girls’ volleyball team won
the championship of the three
day tournament by downing
Clearwater by a single point, 31
30. The finals were played Wed
day night, November 25.
Oakdale took third-place hon
ors, defeating Meadow Grove,
28-20. in the first game of the
evening.
In the games played Tuesday
night Tilden defeated Oakdale,
40-30, and Clearwater won over
Meadow Grove, 42-23.

Mrs. Clarence Wyant. The Wy
ants left here Thursday, Novem
ber 12, and visited Mr. and Mrs.
George Hodgeson and family at
Chugwater, Wyo. At Bremerton
they are visiting her sisters, Mrs.
Grace Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. Ned
Frady and Mr. and Mrs. Roland
Jackson.
Sunday dinner guests in the
Andrew Gilbert home were Mr.
and Mrs. Elmer Berger of Tilden.
Mrs. R. K. Platt received a
box of pecans Friday, November
20, from Mrs. Harry Lull (for
merly Maude Baker), a childhood
friend in Brainard where the two
families lived at that time. Mrs.
Platt had not seen or heard from
Mrs. Lull since she left Brainard
in 1895 until she received a letter
from her about a year ago. Mrs.
Platt was very happy to renew
the old friendship.
