RESOLUTION WHEREAS Rosa May Harding is the owner of the hereinafter described real estate upon which there exists in favor of the State of Nebraska and the County of Holt Old Age Assistance board, a lien for old age assistance pay ments received by Rosa May Harding and Thomas W. Harding, aad, WHEREAS the said Rosa May Harding has applied for the con sent and permission of this board to sell and convey the property b(y her presently owned, which is hereinafter described, for the sum of $5000.00, and to be per mitted to apply the proceeds of said sale upon the repurchase of the real estate described as the West Half of Lot 5 and All of Lot 6 in Block 33 of the Original Town of O’Neill, Nebraska, which latter property is being purchased for the sum of $6000.00 and to permit the said Rosa May Hard ing- in the purchase of the after described property, to place and fix a first mortgage upon said premises in the amount of $1000.00 which said mortgage is to super cede the old age assistance lien of said County, and, WHEREAS, the said Rosa May Harding has requested that the Board direct the County Treasurer of said County to release the old age assistance lien of said County upon the hereinafter described real estate, in order to permit and make possible the transfer and exchange of properties as above set forth, and, WHEREAS, This said Board has carefully considered said mat ter, and compared the respective valuations of the properties to be exchanged and sold with the property to be purchased, and* deeming the exchange to be a fair one, and considering that the lien for old age assistance pay ments will be enhanced in value by the making of such substitu tion and transfer, and permitting the • mortgaging of the newly ac quired property as aforesaid, NOW. THEREFORE. It is here by resolved by the Old Age As sistance Board of Holt County. Nebraska, that the Treasurer of said County, be, and hereby is directed by virtue of the provi sions of Section 68-215.02, of the Revised Statutes of Nebraska, 1943, reissue of 1950. to execute and cause to be recorded a nropoT and sufficient release of the old age assistance lien now existing against Thomas W. Harding. De ceased, or Rosa May Harding, up on the following described real estate, to-wit: Commencing at a point 20 rods north and 67 rods and 11% feet east of the southwest comer of • -IN the Northwest Quarter of Section Twenty-nine (29), x ownship Twenty-nine (29), Range Eleven (11), West of the 6th P. M. in Holt County, Nebraska, thence north 22 rods, thence west 16 rods to the place of beginning, contain ing 2.20 acres, and described as Out Lot “A", and beginning at a point 20 rods north and 83 rods and 11% feet east of the south west comer of the Northwest Quarter of the above described section, thence north 22 rods, thence east 16 rods, thence south 22 rods and thence west 16 rods to the place of beginning, con taining 2.32 and described as Out Lot “B”, all in O’Neill, Holt 1 County, Nebraska. Meeting called to order by the chairman. Hearings on Tesch’s and O’ Donnell’s road petitions were to be held at 1:30 and 2.00 P. M. Since these roads are near each other it was decided to hold these Hearings together. Eleven per sons attended these Hearings. Motion by Batenhorst, seconded by Frickel that both of the above petitions be rejected. Motion car ried. Two petitions submitted by Lloyd Evans and others were con sidered. The first petition request ed the County Board to discon tinue and abandon the part of the County Road System com mencing at the SW corner of Sec. 25-30-13 and running north on the Section lines a distance of eight miles to the SW corner otf 13-31-13. Said road to revert to the townships concerned as town ship roads. In the second petition they were petitioning to have the fol lowing described road made a part Of the County Road System: com mencing at the SW comer of Sec. 27-30-13, running thence north on the section lines a distance of six miles; running thence west on the section line a distance of 2 % miles to the SW corner of Sec. 30. Davidsons had orginally made two bids, one to do the work this way at a cost of $1049.00 and the other bid was to install a gas burner in the firing doors of the furnace at a cost of $977.00. This second bid was the one first accepted but this has not proved to be an economical way of heat ing the building so it was decided to accept the first bid. Motion carried. 12:00 noon. RUTH HOFFMAN County Clerk FRANK CRONK Chairman Inmao News Mrs. Walter Comstock returned to her home in St. Paul, Minn., Saturday after spending a week visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Kelley. Miss Joan Coventry of Omaha spent the weekend visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Coventry. Larry Sawyer of Stuart spent the weekend visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Sawyer. Mrs. Walter Jacox of Mintum., Colo., spent the weekend visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Har ry McGraw and with other fri ends. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Tompkins and Mr. and Mrs. R. B. South spent Saturday in Emmet attend ing the Lord’s acre festival at the Methodist church. Graydon Hartigan, who is em ployed at Ainsworth, spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Marye Hartigan. The Coffee club met last Thursday with Mrs. Ray Siders. A covered dish luncheon was served at noon and the afternoon was spent in taking care of bus iness and visiting. The women’s department of the R. L. D. S. church held a bake sale Saturday afternoon at the locker plant. The proceeds of the sale were added to the church treasury. Delmont Heck, who has recent ly been discharged from the Navy, spent Monday and Tues day visiting his brother, Ray mond, and his sister, Mrs. Ken neth Kestenholtz. Delmont has been stationed at Treasure Island, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Keyes of Valentine spent the weekend visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hansen. Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Crosser and sons of Neligh spent Sunday evening visiting in the homes of Mr and Mrs. Earl Miller and Mr. and Mrs. David Morsbach and daughters. Delmont Heck spent a few days last week visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gray at Blue Hill. Mrs. David Morsbach and daughters, Lois and Mary, spent Sunday evening and Monday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Crosser and sons at Neligh Mr and Mrs. Donald Wolfe and family of Amelia spent Sun day afternoon in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry McGraw. Mrs. Jacox, who spent the weekend in the McGraw home, returned to Amelia with them Sunday evening. Lt. John Bohn has been dis charged from the Army and is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Bohn, and Max at this time. Bohn was stationed at Ft. Leon ard Wood, Mo., when he received his discharge. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brittell and daughter, Betty Jean, of Al bion spent Sunday visiting in the home of Mrs. Brittell’s mother, Mrs. Lottie Thompson. The RoyalNeighbor lodge met with Mrs. Ira Watson. After a short busines meeting and social afternoon, Mrs Watson served a dainty lunch. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Thompson and sons of Grand Island spent i * the weekend visiting Mr. Thomp son's mother, Mrs. Lottie Thomp son. The Y. M. club met Tuesday with Mrs. Howard Jackson. Tha hostess served dinner at noon and the afternoon was spent sew ing. Miss LuElla Watson of Atkin son spent the weekend visiting her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Watson. Mrs. Herbert Neilson and daughter. Kay, spent the week end in Omaha visiting Delores Nielson. They were accompanied by Mrs. Ray Hoffman, who visit ed in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Custard. Harold Nielson and Laurence Stevens left Monday moring for a hunting trip to the Black Hills. They expect to visit at Rapid j City, S. D. and Gillette, Wyo. Harold has completed 6M> ; months of work with the R. E. A. and Laurence has been em- 1 ployed on construction work at Spencer. Mrs. Kathyrn Abbnehaus, who has been visiting in Crieghton, came Monday to spend a few days visiting her sister, Mrs. Anna Young. Marvin Rouse and Donald Keyes drove cars to Norfolk Sat urday, Nov. 7, and took 10 mem bers of the youth choir to attend the showing of the motion pic ture “Martin Luther”. Mrs. Blan che Rouse and Mildred Keyes also accompanied the group. Paddock Aid Makes Plans for Servicemen— (The Paddock Community Aid recently held a meeting for Oct ober and November. A large Crowd attended the session held at the home of Mrs. Edward Kaczor, October 7. Mrs. Axel Borg had charge of the scrip ture lesson and program. A lunch was served by Mrs. Kaczor. On November 4, The Paddock aid met at the home of Mrs. George Nelson. All members, ex cept Mrs. David Jensen and Mrs. Elmer Devall, were present. Mrs. George Nelson had charge of the scripture lesson. At the business meeting it was voted to have a 12 o’clock Christmas dinner, fol lowed by a program and bazaar at the home of Mrs. Sam Robert son in December. Mrs. George Nelson, Mrs. Ru dolph Johnson and Mrs. Adolph Sedivy were appointed to act on the food committee and Mrs. Walter Devall, Mrs. Elmer De vali and Mrs. George Hansen on the entertainment committee The Aid is also remembering local boys in service at Christmas time. A lunch was served at the close of the meeting to 23 members and guests. Mr. and Mrs Ralph Ernst and family of Miltonville, Kans., visit ed over the weekend with friends and relatives here. Next Aux Meeting at Shavlik Home— The American Legion auxiliary of Chambers post 320 met Thurs day afternoon, November 5, at the home of Mrs. George Thom son with Mrs. Willard Thomson as cohostess. Eleven members an swered roll call. One visitor, Mrs. Myrtle Bell, was present. A motion was carried for each member to bring a 50-cent gift to the next meeting which will be held Friday evening, Decem ber 4. at the Steve Shavlik home. Mrs. Ted Tomjack, Mrs. A. A. Walter, Mrs. T. E. Alderson and Mrs. Willard- Thomson were ap pointed as program committee. Mrs. Jack Alderson gave a re port on organizing CTA meetings. It was labeled for further discus sion.
