Weekly Market Report
of
The Atkinson Livestock Market
Atkinson. Nebr.
Although interest in all classes of cattle was quite broad at
this week’s auction, it lacked the aggressiveness apparent a
week ago, influenced no doubt by the sharp break in fat cat
tle. Tlus was particularly apparent on cattle with weight. The
choicer steer calves ruled generally 50 cents to 1.00 higher,
■while heifer calves sold 50 to 75 cents lower.
Top quality steer calves sold at 20.00 to 22.50 with two
very attractive lots going at 22.75 and 22.90. More ordinary
steer calves brought from 17.50 to 19.00. Heifer calves bulked
at 14.50 to 15.50 with several outstanding lots going up to
17.00 and 17.25. Better quality yearling steers from 18.50 to
19.00 with a fancy load of 550-lb. averages at 20.70. Right good
steers at 17.00 to 18.00. A consignment of fleshy feeder steers,
100 head of them brought 18.70. Better quality stocker and feed
er heifers sold from 15.00 to 16.50 with more ordinary kinds
at 12.00 to 14.00 a hundred. Cows and butcher cattle ruled
barely steady with a week ago.
Receipts for the two days totaled nearly 5,000 head.
