RESOLUTION WHEREAS, it is determined that there has not been suffi cient funds appropriated in the County Budget for the year 1952 1953 for the continued operations of the Office of Cbunty Survey or and that exceptional duties in: su,ch office have exhausted the funds available fior the operation thereof, and it being determined that an emergency exists to meet the unanticipated' requirements of funds for the operation of such office, and; that it is essen tial to the preservation and main tenance of the administration of justice, the public safety, and public welfare* within said Cbun *y that an additional appropria tion be made for the mainten ance of the functions of said of fice for the balance of said fiscal year, BE IT THEREFORE HEREBY RESOLVED that there be; and there hereby is appropriated to the funds tor operation of the office of County Surveyor for the fiscal year 1952-53, the sum of $350.00, from unappropriated funds in the General Fund of said County for said year.. They ex plained how they could cooxert the present heating, system, so that the County could heat the Court House with natural gas, and told of the advantages **f gas over coat They said, they would prepare a bid on this week and submit it to the Bbard. A representative of the Doane Appraisal Co. met \*ith the BhardL He told diem about the Co. and explained the methods used by his Co. id appcaising the valuation of the real property and improvement in a County. He will submit a bid. 12:00 Noon. On motion the Board adjourned until 1:00 P.M. O’Neill, Nebr. July 14, 195S 1:00 P.M. Holt County Board of Super visors met as per adjournment. All members present. Meeting called to order by the Chairman. 1:30 P M. This was the time set for opening the bids on Bridge Materials. Bids were received from The Monarch Engineering Co. of Falls City, Nebraska, and Inland Construction Co., Omaha, Nebraska. These bids were reviewed by the Bridge Committee. The Bridge Committee reported that the bid made by Inland Construc tion Co. was lower than the other bid and recommended that their bid be accepted. Motion was then made by Clark, seconded by Sterns that the Board accept the recommend ation of Bridge Committee and that Inland Construction Co. be given the contract and that the Monarch Engineering Co.’s cer tified check be returned to them. Motion carried. Austin Hynes met with the Board regarding the right-of-way the Board wished to purchase from him. No agreement could be reached so the matter was dropped. Jack Davidson presented his bid on gas equipment for the fur nace in the Court House. Motion was made by Frickel, seconded by Waring that we ac cept Davidson’s bid and have a gas burner installed by them in the firing doors of the furnace. Motion carried. A representative of the E. T. Wilkins & Associates Appraisal Co. of Lincoln met with the Board telling about his company and the Nebraska counties they have appraised. This company will also submit a bid on this work. Minutes of the meetings of June 24, July 10 and July 14 were read and approved as read. A road petition signed by Har ley Everett and others was read and considered. They were peti tioning to have the road starting at NE comer of NE%- 36-30-14 and extending South 314 miles to NE comer of SEV4 of 18-29-14 be designated a County Road. Motion by Frickel, seconded by Sterns that a hearing be held on this petition on August 26 at 2:30 P.M. Motion carried. The Finance Committee report ed that all fees from the various offices for the month of June had been remitted to the County Treasurer as required by law.
