Mrs. Wanser is the former Dorothy Froelich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Frank Froelich of O’Neill. Bride-Elect Is Feted at Shower— EWING—Miss Jeannene Gib son, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Gibson of Ewing, was honored at a miscellaneous shower Tues day afternoon, June 30, at Wayne. College classmates of the Ewing bride-elect were hostesses. Miss Gibson, who has taught the past two years at Platte Cen ter, completed her training at Wavne State Teachers college. Games and presentation of gifts to the bride-to-be were fol lowed bv refreshments. Miss Gibson is the granddaugh ter of William J. Harris of Ew ing. James McKenny of Omaha spent the weekend at the Clifford Harding home. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Taylor and son of Battle Creek were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Gallup. Mission Group in All-Day Session— EWING—An all-day session of the Missionary society of the United Presbyterian chruch was held on Thursday, June 25. The business session was held during the forenoon at the parsonage with Mrs. Ora Switzer as leader of the lesson on Punjab in Pak iston, assisted by Mrs. Z. H. Fry, Mrs. Carl Christon, Mrs. Kitty Fry and Mrs. Lee Fink. The prayer cycle was conduct ed by Mrs. Archie Johnston with prayers given by Mrs. Wilbur Bennett, Mrs. W. J. Bomer, Mrs. Z. H. Fry, Mrs. Carl Christon and Mrs. Willie Shrader. A noon luncheon was served at the annex and the ladies spent the afternoon cleaning the church. Fifteen members were present. O’Neill News Pvt. Donald Van Buren will leave today ^Thursday) following a week’s furlough with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Van Buren. He is stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. Mrs. T. W. Keeney and two sons of Huston, Tex., who for a week hav£ been visiting her mother, Mrs. Gertie Minahan, plan to leave soon for their home. Mrs. Minahan will accom pany them for a visit. Mrs. Harold Jones and children of Omaha returned home Tues day after spending a week with Mrs. Elizabeth Jones. Mr. Jones came for them. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Buckmaster and Virginia of Fremont were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Norman. They, accom panied by Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Harding, spent Saturday fishing at Dora lake. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Butterfield and family went to Creighton Sunday where they were met by Mr. and Mrs. Elbridge Maynard of Creighton and Mr. and Mrs. Lou Speers of Verdigre, who ac companied them on a sightsee ing trip to Gavin’s point dam near Yankton. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Connors and sons of Greeley were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Wallace. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Green spent the weekend in Grand Is land at the home of Mr. and Mrs James Donovan and family. Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Landis and family and Mrs. Mae Landis visited friends in Oakdale Satur day. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Norman and son, Fred, of Ord were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Harding. Sick & Injured O’NEILL— Mrs. John Under wood has been confined to her home with influenza. . . Mayor J. E. Davis returned Friday from Rochester, Minn., where recent ly he submitted to surgery. . . Frank Fritton is ill witn influ enza. . . Condition of the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Mc Kamy is reported “good” at Our Lady of Lourdes hosp’tal, Nor folk. . . Mrs. Robert Berigan and daughter, Kitty, were released Saturday from an Omaha hospi tal and are at the W. J. Froelich residence here. PAGE—Glen Stewart submit ted to an appendectomy at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital, Nor folk, Friday forenoon. His con dition is “gbod.” Mrs. Stewart took him to Norfolk on Friday morning and returned to Page Saturday afternoon. . . Paul Sin gleton, Larry and Paul, jr., drove to Sioux City last Thursday to visit Mrs. Singleton at the Meth odist hospital. DELOIT — Vicky Bauer was able to return home from the Antelope Memorial hospital, Ne ligh, the first of the week. Stir; had pneumonia and was hospit alized three or four days. . Le land Hupp was able to return home from a Norfolk hospital on Friday. He had been suffering from a throat infection. EMMET — Mrs. Gilbert Fox sprained her ankle severely last week when she slipped and fell from a porch while visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tomlintson of Star. It was necessary for the ank'e to be put into a cast which she will have to wear for some time. CHAMBERS—W. A. Smith re turned from the Clarkson hospi tal, Omaha, where he had been a patient. . . R. K. Platt returned Friday from the Methodist hos pital, Sioux City, where he had undergone a major operation. REDBIRD— Mrs. Nick Baker had a severe heart attack last Thursday and another Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Buss Greene and Mrs. Lillian Baker called there Friday and Saturday. INMAN—Gerge Colman sr., is in St. Anthony’s hospital. LYNCH NEWS Mrs. Tom Wheeler has moved from her apartment in Lynch to Butte. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Serk and family left for their home in Philadelphia on last Monday after visiting for several weeks with the Thomas Courtney and Jake Serk homes. Elizabeth Peklo returned home from a weeks stay in Omaha. Mrs. Edna Hammon of Cor- i vallis. Ore., has spent the past i week visiting old time friends. Jim Muller visited relatives in Creighton last Sunday. Mrs. Lydia Reagon returned to her home in California last Wed nesday after a two weeks visit here with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Jehorek and family visited at the Joe Nemic home in Spencer Saturday. Mrs. Abbie Wright returned to her home in Oregon last Tuesday after a two weeks visit with her brother, Scott Gray, and sister, Mrs. Lloyd Spencer, and families. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Mamot and son of Grand Island visited at the Leland Moody and Don o Rossmier home here last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Long Tiatted at Oaks, N.
