Mrs. Emma Martin and Mrs. Fora Knight returned last Thursday evening from Park Rapids, Minn., where they had spent a week visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Tomlinson and Mr. and Mrs. William Turn er of Chambers went to Inman Sunday to visit Kay Coventry, who is ill with rheumatic fever. She is at the home of her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. James Cov entry. Mrs. Mary Tomlinson and son, Larry, spent the weekend m Lynch visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Carson and other friends. Mr. and Mrs Leo Tomjack and Terry and Miss Florence Ponton went to Battle Creek Sunday to attend the dinner in honor of the 21st wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Ponton. The dinner was held in the Ponton home. Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Skulbor stad spent the weekend in Om aha and attended a company party and the ice capades. Mrs. David Morsbach of In man was a Wednesday evening, April 8, caller in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Sparks. CITY LOANS. — R. H. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Spry and sons of Ralston had Easter dinner with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Spry, and also called in the homes of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Stearns and Mrs. Florence Schultz. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Strong, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Strong and Miss Zittella Kestenholtz attended the auto show at Ne ligh Friday evening. The show was under the auspices of the Neligh News. Mr. and Mrs. James Rourke of Ainsworth were Saturday over night guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Weaver enroute oh their trip to Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Connors and Mr. and Mrs. Nick McQuil lin of Neligh were Sundav visit ors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Wallace and they also at tended the Knights of Columbus initiation. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Spry and family were Friday afternoon and evening callers in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wiseman at Page. Jeanie and Shirley Van Vleck spent the weekend in Neligh at the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Van Vleck. Mr. and Mrs. Fora Knight visited Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jutte at Chambers on Monday evening. Mrs. John Kahler of Meadow Grove spent from Saturday through Wednesday in the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Liedtke. Mrs. Mary Holliday returned to her home here recently .after spending the winter in Colum bus. Mr. and Mrs. William McIn tosh went to Meadow Grove Tuesday evening where they were guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Novotny. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Shierk and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Benson drove to Omaha Sunday to at tend the ice capades. Mr. and Mrs. George Stuessi and sons drove to Ft. Randall, S.D., Sunday for sightseeing. They were accompanied by Mrs. Wallace Smith, Judy and Kon rad. They were accompanied by two teachers, Miss Gilbert and Miss Perriot. The group attended the ice capades in Omaha on Saturday evening. Other Deloit News A number of ladies from this community attended a party at the John Kester home on Wed nesday, April 8. Joan Thiele helped out at the Clint Taylor home a few days last week. Mrs. Anna Sehi of Elgin visit ed at the Leo Funk and ~>ill Se hi home a few days last week. Sam Kenedy of Iowa spent a few days last week at the John Bauer and Ralph Tomjack homes. He is going into the armed service on April 20. The HEO club met at the Henry Reimer home last Thurs day. Mrs. Claude Elliott was elected president. Mrs. Ewald Spahn is the former president. Mrs. Glen Harpster was elected secretary and treasurer, a post formerly held by Mrs. Henry Reimer. The next meeting will be May 14 at the Clarence Schmiser home. Mrs. Carol Vandersnick and family spent last Thursday at the Pete Thiele home. Mrs. G. A. Bauer and Mrs. Sylvester Bauer and children were Ewing visitors on Friday. Most of the oats are in the ground; potatoes and early gar den are also planted. Sunshine is needed. A number from here attended the creamery meeting at Ew’.ng on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Ziska and daughter are visiting at the Leo Funk home.
