Eagles Hit Neligh 64-44 for 5th Win — Triumph Minus Chace and Closson The O’Neill high Eagles breezed to 64-44 triumph over the visit ing Neligh high Warriors here Tuesday night minus the serv ices of Larry Chace, speedy for ward who was nursing an injury, and Cliff Closson, who has been obliged to drop school. It was the fifth win in six starts for Coach Paul Baker’s Blues. O’Neill led 17-8 at the quarter, 31-15 at intermission, and 46-24 going into the final stanza. Long Gary Buckmaster pumped in 24 points and Davey Eby’s rebound work sparkled. Gabelman was best for the losers with 17. The O’Neill seconds copped, 42-26. Spencer will be here Friday night with Hay Sharp averaging 20 points per for the Bovd club. Ainsworth comes next Tuesday. This one may determine the North-Central loop title. HEADING FOR EUROPE CHAMBERS—Sgt. and Mrs. Marvin Green arrived Sunday, January 4, from San Luis Obispo, Calif., to visit his mother and husband Mr. and Mrs. Hamp Smith and family, and other rela tives at Chambers and O’Neill. Sergeant Green has been on duty in Korea for 18 months. He will report at Camp Kilmer, N.J., on January 15 for a 42-months’ as signment in Europe. Mrs. Green may go to Europe later. Cardinals Wallop Inman Tigers, 59-27 The St. Mary’s academy Card inals and Inman high Tigers squared off Friday evening on the Inman court to begin post holiday cage play, and the Card inals waltzed to a 59-27 victory. Eugene H. Kurpgeweit, eld est son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Kurpgeweit of Ewing, took place on new year’s day at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran church at Orchard at 2 p.m. The single-ring full liturgical ceremony was performed by Rev. Lee W. Steffan, the first nuptial rites to be performed in the new church which was completed and dedicated last year. Traditional wedding music was played by William Zmmerman, church organist and uncle of the bride. A vocal trio, Joe, Laura and Dorothy Zimmerman sang, “Oh, Perfect Love.” The bride wore a floorlength gown of white satin with a fitted bodice, long sleeves and a high neckline. With this she wore a Juliet cap of lace with a circular veil cut at elbow length. Her only jewelry was a cross of gold. She carried a shower of pink roses. Laura Louise Helmricks was her sister’s maid-of-honor. She wore a gown of .peacock blue taf feta and carried a colonial bou quet of white chrysanthemums. Bridesmaid was the youngest sis ter of the bride, Lynette Helm ricks. Her gown was of gold colored taffeta and she also car ried a bouquet similar to that of the maid-of-honor. The bridegroom was attired in a blue suit. His attendants were his brothers, Donald Kurpgeweit, as bestman and Richard Kurp geweit. Ushers were Leland Stelling of Orchard and Donald Larson of Clearwater. The gen tlemen each wore a white carna tion boutonniere. Merriman of O’Neill. The couple’s bethrothal was revealed at an eggnog party new year’s day at the Jesse home. Miss Jesse will graduate from Creighton university in June. Duane A. Blair, son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Blair of Amelia. Rev. Cox officiated at the dou ble-ring ceremony. The couple was attended by Miss Donna Blair and Cpl. Alvin E. Private Blair is a 1949 graduate of the Chambers high school and was employed on a ranch near Bartlett until his induction in June. He is to report to a sig nal corps school at Ft. Mon mouth, N.
