Jerry Asher, who is here on a furlough and will soon be sent to Italy. Santa Passes Out Gifts at Meeting— The merican Legion auxiliary, Simonson unit 93, held a regular business meeting Wednesday eve ning, December 3, in the Legion auditorium. Following the meet ing, Mrs. Alex Borg was in charge of a candlelight service. The lunch committee gave a skit in which the Christmas story was read. The scene was a fire place with Santa Claus, Mrs. Jack Everitt and several junior members of the auxiliary ga thered around. Following the reading of the story, Santa passed out gifts to the members of the auxiliary, while a p-oup of stu dents from the public school sang Christmas carols. Lunch was served at the close of the program. Aboard Transport Conveying Army— AMELIA — Participating in “Operation: Sea Scape” aboard the attack transport USS New Kent, is Leonard E. Luginsland, machinery repairman fireman, USN, son of Rev. and Mrs. Al bert M. Lubinsland of Amelia.
