The lay leader of the Metho
dist church at O’Neill preached at
0’Neill and Emmet Sunday morn
ing at the worship services of
those churches. The speaker was
Burl Munsell, manager of Gam
bles store. The occasion was
Methodist laymen’s day. At O’
Neill a male quartette assisted
with the service, singers were
Rahe (Benny) Johnson, Grant
Peacock, W. B. Smith and Roy
Johnson.
The message was entitled
“Building The Kingdom of God.”
“To do this,” Mr. Munsell said,
“men must have an experience of
God, faith in God and fellow
man, and enthusiasm.”
Laymen’s Sunday is an annual
affair in the Methodist church.

public auction on Saturday. The
Culvers and their daughter, Jean,
and their son, David, plan to
make their home in Bakersfield
or Shafter, Calif., after Novem
ber 1. Mr. Culver’s parents re
side at Bakersfield. W. F. Kirk
land of Atkinson has purchased
the Culver residence, 504 East
Everett street. The Culvers pur
chased the residence several years
ago from the Froelich family.

Riverside Honors
2 Club ‘Graduates’
The Riverside 4-H club mtt at
the Leo Schneider home Sunday,
October 5, for the final meeting
of the year.
This was demonstration day,
also graduation day for two of
the charter members, Romona
Schneider and Patrick Boyle.
Romona celebrated her birth
day along with her graduation
from an 11-year course. She
has been a member of the River
side club since 1941, and has com
pleted the following proejects:
Forestry I, II and III, food pres
ervation for two years, sewing
for two years, yard beautification,
stocker feeder, girls’ room and
cooking.
Romona has been a very active
4-H member and has served
as president two years, secretary,
song leader, treasurer and junior
leader for two years.
Patrick joined the Riverside
club in 1945 and in his seven
years of club work has completed
the following projects: garden
three years, stocker-feeder three
years, forestry four years, poul
try five years, yard beautifica
tion two years and fix-it one
year.
As a result of his activity in
4-H, Patrick was awarded three
trips to club week in Lincoln as
a county winner and one trip to
club congress in Chicago, 111., as a
state winner in his garden pro
jects. He served as treasurer of
the club one year and junior
leader one year.
Romona and Patrick both grad
uates of St. Mary’s academy, ha\ e
been good club members and were
presented gifts from the club.
Romona received a Black Hills
gold ring and Patrick a camera.
