Her husband, BTFN Marvin Hoerle, left on August 16 for Japan aDoard the USS cruiser Toledo. Mrs. Hoerle will remain here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Walter. Katheryn Newhouse went to Neligh recently where she is em ployed as music instructor in the Nehgh school. She also teaches English in the high school. Jackie Taggert, who won first place in the style review at achievement day in O’Neill, is attending the state fair this week. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Mitchell and daughter of Neligh spent Sunday, August 31, at the home of Bill Majors. Leola Weichman of Stuart spent the weekend with her aunt, Mrs. Cliff Gillette and Mr. Gillette. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hoerle and family moved Saturday into the John Walter house in the north port of town. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Turner and Roger of Grand Island came on Saturday, August 30, and visited until Monday evening with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Turner, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo T. Adams. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Barrett of Brunswick spent Sunday with her parents, Mr and Mrs. Bert Lybolt and attended the wedding of a friend, Glenice White, at Amelia. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Neilson and Mrs. Holloway were Sunday din ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Wintermote. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Walter and family drove to Arapahoe Wed nesday, August 27, to attend a reunion of the Walter family. The occasion was in honor of her great-grandmother, who was cele brating her 100th birthday anni versary. Helda and Ruth Wend land of Arapahoe, who had been visiting here, accompanied them. The Walters returned Sunday. Lyle Bryant of Lincoln spent Wednesday night, August 27, with his sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Sexton and Na dine. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beed of Lincoln came Friday evening, August 29, to spend the weekend with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Coolidge visited overnight recently in the Donald Grimes home at Eaton, Colo. Mr. and Mrs. O. Jarman of At kinson visited his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Wood Jarman, and attended the fair on Thurs day and Friday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Mikus of Amelia did the chores at the H. C. Walter place while they were visiting at Arapahoe. John Butterfield of Newport took in the Holt county fair and visited with old friends. He is a former resident of the Chambers community. Pfc. F. Park pre sented nine of her piano students in a recital at the Methodist church. Piano solos were played by Richard Harris, Connie Reige, Faye Irene Ballantyne, Myrna Heiss, Louise Harris, Kathleen Walker, Ruth Kelly, Carol Har ris and Marian Heiss. Richard and Carol Reiss, Louise Harris and Ruth Kelly, Connie Reige and Mrs. Park played duets. A vocal solo was furnished by Louise Har ris, a trio, Louise, Karen and Carol Harris and a trio, Bonnie Heiss, Larry Walker and Karen Harris. The program concluded with group singing of Auld Lang Svne, accompanied by Miss Kathleen Walker. The mothers served re freshments.
