EWING — Jerard Spittler and
Richard Spittler returned Mon
day from Omaha. Mr. Spittler
spent the weekend with his wife,
who has been released from the
hospital where she was treated
for polio. She is at present a
guest at the home of her parents.

pital. Norfolk on Saturday. She

Saturday from the Lutheran hos
pital, Norfolk. . . J. W. Ressel, fa
ther of Harry E. Ressel, was taken
to the Lutheran hospital, Norfolk,
late Saturday for surgery. He kas
taken by ambulance. His condi
tion following the emergency op
eration Is “satisfactory.”
INMAN—Mr. and Mrs. Chris
Reimers, Bob and Carolyn drove
to Omaha Saturday where they
consulted a specialist in regard
to Carolyn’s eyes. . . James
Sholes drove to Omaha on Sun
day and brought his mother, Mrs.
Sarah Sholes, home from the
hospital where she had been a
patient for the past couple of
weeks.

Sioux City Sunday, August 17, to
bring Mrs. Russell home from the
Methodist hospital where she had
been a patient following an oper
ation. . . Mrs. Calvin Harvey en
tered the St. Joseph hospital
Sioux City, Tuesday, August 12,
and submitted to an operation the
following day.
AMELIA—Lee Gilman received
a painful shoulder injury when he
became tangled in the wire while
moving a hay stacker under the
telephone wire. The muscles and
ligaments in his shoulder were
torn loose. He was in the hospi
tal in Atkinson over Thursday
night.
DELIOT—Mr. and Mrs. G. A.
Bauer were in Omaha last week
where Mrs. Bauer was given
medical attention. On Saturday
they went to Tilden. . . .
Donna Day had her tonsils re
moved in Neligh on Friday. She
is going to teach this fall.
LYNCH—Ray Long was on the
sick list last week. . . George
Courtney is up and about in i
car. . . Mrs. Nellie Sinkey, who
recently fractured her hip in a
fall, is not so good at the Lynch
hospital.
EMMET—Leo Tuenender was
injured Friday, August 22, while
he was cranking a tractor. The
crank swung back and broke
three ribs. He has been under r
doctor’s care but is “doing well.”

Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Russell re
turned home Friday noon. They
had been called to Lincoln by the
death of Mr. Russell's brother,
George Russell. Services were
held in Lincoln on Tuesday, Aug.
19, with burial at Unidilla. Mr.
and Mrs. Russell went to Polk
where they visited their son-in
law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
Gilbert Lampshire. Mrs. Lamp
shire and niece, Janet Nelson,
brought them to Page. The day
of the funeral Mr. and Mrs. Rus
sell’s son-in-law, Roy Nelson, re
ceived word his nephew had been
killed in a plane crash in Wyo
ming. They wrent to Scottsbluff
where Mr. Nelson’s sister, Mrs.
Floyd Gillian lives and where the
services were to be held.

Steffens arived Friday for a few
days visit with homefolks.
Miss Steffens was a Friday
overnight guest at the McCarthy
home. She left Saturday for
Geddes, S.D, where she spent the
weekend with her parents, Mon
day she came back to O’Neill and
the three ladies returned to Oma
ha Monday evening where they
are employed.

Mr. and Mrs. Eli Walter of
Boyd, Minn., came Wednesday,
August 20, to visit hig brother
and wife, Mr. and Mrs. J. W.
Walter, and other relatives. The
two families spent a couple of
days in the Black Hills and on
Monday, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Wal
ter left for Clearwater to visit
relatives before returning home.
Rev. and Mrs. L. R. Hansberry
drove to Valentine Friday to
bring her parents, who had been
visiting there, to Chambers for
a visit.
Mrs. Clayton Wood and sons of
L,os Angeles, Calif., who have
been visiting her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. R. K. Platt, left Friday
for Lincoln and Omaha to visit
relatives. They plan to return
to Chambers before leaving for
their home in California.

spent Saturday flight in the Hans
berry home while enroute to the
Black Hills on a camping and
sightseeing trip. They are grand
sons of Rev. and Mrs. Hansberry.
