SICK AND INJURED EWING— Mrs. Louis Pofahl became ill at her home last week and was taken to the Antelope Memorial hospital on Sunday, August 10, for treatment for a kidney ailment. She is showing “improvement.” . . . Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Rockey went to Neligh on Thursday evening where Mrs. Rockey kept an appointment to have her eyes tested. While at the doctor’s office, she became violently ill. She was taken to the Antelope Memorial hospital where she underwent an emer gency operation for appendicitis at li o’clock the same evening. Her condition is “satisfactory.” . . . Mrs. Rose Fridley, who has been confined to her home with a broken hip for many months, was a guest at the home of her old friend, Mrs. May Gemmill, on Friday. CHAMBERS — Alfred Maas, who has been in bed for the past six weeks due to a back ailment, is reported “slightly improved.” . . Tom Engelhaupt had a toe re moved by a Norfolk doctor on Friday, Ernest Young and Will Jutte drove to Norfolk Saturday to bring him home. . . Dennis (Butchie) Hoerle, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Hoerle, suf fered a broken arm on Saturday while playing on a teeter-totter. . . . Jim Cavanaugh returned last Thursday from Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Norfolk. . . Mrs. Earl Hoerle is a patient in the O’Neill hospital. . . Glen Adams returned Monday, August 17, from the Neligh hospital. OWEILL—D. N. Loy, who was injured in a fall recently is “im proving.” He is able to get around on crutches. . . Miss Dorothy Bennett has gone to Arlington, Va., to be near her sister, Miss Barbara, who is ill. Miss Dorothy was taken to Omaha by Mr. and Mrs. Donald McKamy. Miss Bar bara, who was visiting another sister, Mrs. F. O. Foree, is now in an Arlington hospital. . . Mrs. Seth Noble is confined in a rest home in Los Angeles, Calif. She left her home here two weeks ago to be near her daughter. . . Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wetzler took their daughter, Bette Rae, to the University hospital, Omaha, Monday for medical aid. INMAN—Mrs. Albert Reynolds returned Monday from Antelope | Memorial hospital, Neligh, where she had submitted to surgery. . . DELOIT — Mrs. Charles Mc Donald was a patient at the Ne ligh hospital for a time last week. . . . Mrs. Louis Pofahl was a pa tient last week at the Neligh hospital. She entered the hospi tal Sunday morning. . . The baby son of Mr. and Mrs. Vintus Sehi returned home from the hospital Wednesday, August 13. LYNCH—Mrs. John Hewitson. is in an Omaha hospital having undergone surgery. . . Mr. and Mrs. Allan Koscan of Butte brought their little son, Allan, jr., to consult Lynch doctors about his severe cold recently. REDBIRD—Mr. and Mrs. Dan McKenzie were in Norfolk and Omaha Thursday, where Mrs. McKenzie consulted doctors in regard to her throat. . . Mrs. Gor don Barta left Monday morning to go through a clinic at Omaha. AMELIA—Harvey Hansen suf fered a severe heart attack Satur day night. Mr. Hansen is foreman at the Lee ranch. Guild Holds Picnic — Members of the Wesleyan Serv ice Guild had a picnic on the Wil liam McIntosh lawn Monday evening, August 18, Following the picnic Mrs. J. L. Sherbahn, the president, conducted, the business meeting. Mrs. Helen Kreymborg was devotional and program lead er. She presented Miss Ruth Harris, who told of her decision, and preparation for missionary work and some phases of her work in China. Mrs. Roy Johnson became a new member. Guests were Miss Harris and Mrs. Dwight Worcester. The next meeting will be September 15 at the home of Mrs. G. A. Estenson. Mrs. Burl Munsell will be pro gram leader. Reimers Entertain— Mrs. Louis Reimer and son, James, of Gretna visited with County Judge and Mrs. Louis Reimer from Wednesday, August 13. until Monday. Miss Frances Reimer accompanied her to Gret na Monday and will visit there and in Fremont with Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Taylor. DELOIT NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Shavlik and family are vacationing in Minnesota where they are enjoy ing some fishing. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Paul and family are visiting her sister and his brother and family in Oregon Mr. and Mrs. Max Paul and family. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Werk meister and Judy and Don are visiting relatives in South Dako ta. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stearns at tended the Stearns reunion in Iowa on Sunday. Gene Tomiack spent the week end in South Dakota. Lucy Ann Thramer was mar ried to Owen Krause of Beemer at the St. John’s Catholic church on Monday, August 11. The Clearwater Creek club met at the Henry Reimer home Wednesday. Nineteen members seven visitors and seven children attended. A covered dish lunch eon was served at 1 p.m. Games provided the afternoon’s enter tainment. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tomjack were supper guests at the Fraifk Miller home Sunday evening. The HEO club met at the May nard Stearns home Thursday af ternoon, August 14. Roy Wright, who has been working in the harvest fields of Montana, returned home Mon day, August 11.
