July 6.
The juniors put the game on
ice in the first inning with a
five-run barrage.

spent the weekend at the farm

Girls’ State Rdport
A regular meeting of Simonson
unit 93 of the American Legion
auxiliary was held on Wednes
day evening, July 1, at the Legion
auditorium. The president, Mrs.
Axel Borg, presided. Mrs. Virgil
Laursen was acting secretary in
the absence of the regular secre
tary, Anita Ellston.
Initiation for the junior mem
bers was conducted by a past
president, Mrs. Melvin Ruzicka,
assited by Mrs. Richard Minton,
Mrs. Virgil Laursen, Mrs. Don
Enright and Mrs. Axel Borg, also
by the sergeant at arms, Mrs. Don
Green, and the color bearer, Mrs.
Dale Buckmaster. There were 13
junior members present.
A motion was made and car
ried to pay transportation for any
junior members who cares to at
tend the convention in Grand Is
land beginning July 20.
An interesting report was giv
en from the girls’ state repre
sentative, Miss Helen Harty.
Lunch was served by the fol
lowing committee: Mrs. Robert

perience. All children between
ages of 4 and 14 are welcome.

O’Neill Monday, June 16, and
visited for two weeks with Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas Watson in
Rapid City, S.D. She then went
to Chadron and visited in the
Tom Wilson home. Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Watson met her and she
accompanied them to O’Neill for
the Fourth of July. The Watsons
visited Mr. Watson’s parents,
Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Watson, in
Inman, and departed for their
home Sunday accompanied by
Mr. Watson’s sister, Miss Lou
Ella Watson.
