Return from Michiqan, Indiana, MissourrVisit— Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ressel re turned Monday from a 10 - day 'vacation trip. They were in De troit, Mich., where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Templin and son. From Detroit they went to Lafayette, Ind., on business and then on to Neosho, Mo., where thev visited Mrs. Ressel’s mother, Mrs. Susan Harris, and other relatives. They went from Neosho to Topeka, Kans., and visited Mrs. Ressel’s brother and sister-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Har ris. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Ressel ac companied the Ressels as far as Plainview and are with Mr. and Mrs. John Senseney. Goldens Will Sojourn in Florida— Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Golden left Saturday, July 5, for Mi ami, Fla., where they plan to spend a month’s vacation. Enroute to Florida they will stop in Kansas City, Mo., to see their son-in-law and daughter, Hr. and Mrs. Richard Owen. In Florida they will visit Mrs. Golden’s mother, Mrs. J. L. Gaudrie, also Mrs. Margaret Mc Millan and Miss Mary Markey. Miss Katherine Golden is spending two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Allan P. Jaszkowiak while her parents are on vaca tion. Robertsons Hosts— Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Thomas of Grand Island arrived in O’Neill Thursday, July 3, and were guests of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Robertson until Monday. Oth er guests at the Robertson home ■were Miss Mary Thomas of Om aha, who arrived Saturday, July 5, and stayed until Sunday, and Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Housel and son of Fullerton, Calif., who stopped Saturday enroute to Lincoln to visit relatives. Plan '52 Fair Exhibits — CHAMBERS — The Happy Helpers 4-H club met at the home of Ardelle and Vietta Ed •wards on Wednesday, June 25. The meeting was called to or •der. Roll call was answered by naming birds. We sang several songs and gave our pledge to the American flag. At this meeting we chose our demonstration teams for fair and achievement day. We plan to have a float for the fair this year. Our leader gave the lesson on curtains, flounces and dresser scarves. We discussed material to use for them. After our lesson we played games and then Mrs. Edwards served a lunch of jello, cookies and cake. Three of our members attended the 4-H club camp at Long Pine. They were Gloria Grimes, Edythe Grimes and Dorene Gleed. Our next meeting will be at the home of Shirley Green. A date has not yet been set. — By Dorene Gleed, news reporter. Norfolk, Winner Clubs Entertained CHAMBERS— The Beautiful Valley and Chambers Garden clubs had a joint picnic in the woods on the Elmer Wandersee farm Tuesday, July 1. Twelve members and three children were present. Door prizes were given to Donna Hubbard and Mildred Wandersee. Plans were made at this meet ing to entertain the* Norfolk and Winner, S.D., clubs on Tuesday, July 8. A breakfast for the visitors was held at the home of Mrs. J. W. Walter. There was a tour of gardens. The visiting guests were entertained with a picnic in the afternoon, the two Cham bers clubs uniting. Plants were presented to the guests as gifts. The next meeting will be held Wednesday, August 6, at the home of Julia Gilbert. Pearl ! Neilson will be the assistant hostess. Gray, Mr. and Mrs. Rob ert Gray and Veldon and Vernie Hunter had planned a picnic din ner in the Page park Sunday but due to weather conditions they gathered at the J. I. Gray home. A shower honoring Mrs. Jerry Asher was held at the Methodist church parlors Monday evening with over 40 guests present. Mrs. R. F. Park and Mrs. Melvin Held had charge of the entertainment. Mrs. Donald Heiss had charge of the guest book. The honored guest received many gifts. Lunch was served by the committee. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Peterson and Mrs. Nora Peterson, all of In glewood, Calif., transacted busi ness in Page Monday afternoon. They were going to Kansas City, Mo., where they will visit Mr. and Mrs. Verl Petersen and daughter. Verl is the son of Mrs. Nora Pet erson and a brother of Virgil. Mr. and Mrs. Asa Schoenefeldt of Casper, Wyo., spent the week end at the home of the latter’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Robinson and with her brother, John Nickle, and wife at Inman. Carron Ludington of Grand Is land, who had been visiting the past six weeks at the Theo. Kem per, Orville and Herbert Kem per and Ed Braddock homes, has returned to her home. . A family picnic was held in the Page park Sunday honoring Jerry Asher, who was to leave on Wednesday, July 9, to enter the armed services. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Neil Asher, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kemper and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Asher and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Asher and son, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Asher and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Asher and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Asher and son and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Asher. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Mit chell and family of Kearney visited from Friday until Sunday in the Alton Braddock home. Mr. Mitchell taught in the Page school three years ago. Miss Ma rie Heiss, who had visited rela tves over the weekend, returned to Kearney with them. On July 4, in company with Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Connery, they went to Martin, S.D., to attend the celebration and rodeo. On Saturday the same group drove to Vetal, S.D., where they visit ed with Mr. and Mrs. Will Hicks. Sunday forenoon they visited the ranch south of Cody where Mr. and Mrs. Mat Connery live. They enjoyed the canyons and other scenery and saw deer on the Niobrara river. They re turned to Page Sunday after noon. Leaves Navy — W. F. (“Billy”) Marne arrived Monday evening from Ute, la., to visit his uncle and aunt. Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Shriner. He just re ceived his discharge from the navy at San Diego, Calif., after having served about 40 months. He held the rating of electronics technician, first-class. O'NEILL LOCALS Pvt. William A. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Norman went to Ord Saturday where they attended a reunion of the class of 1927 held in the public school in Ord. Mr. Norman was an Ord graduate in 1927.
