Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ott, of North Platte, are visiting at Bert Ott’s and Francis Curran’s. They arrived Monday for a few days. The group were sight-seeing at Ft. Randall Tuesday. Lincoln Family Hurt in Accident Three persons were injured Monday, May 19, about 10 a.m., in Atkinson in a two-car accident. A car driven by James Kurtz, of Lincoln, ran into a machine driven by Herbert Stevens, * of Atkinson” Stevens was turning into his driveway when Kurtz, who was coming from the west, could not stop in time to avoid a collision. All three in the Kurtz car were injured. A 20-months-old baby suffered scalp wounds and a bruised face. Mrs. Kurtz was se verely lacerated on the leg and Mr. Kurtz was bruised and cut in the face by flying glass. The members of the Kurtz family were taken to the Robert Kurtz home in O’Neill where they stayed for a few hours, and then continued on to Lincoln in the afternoon. Mr. Stevens was shaken up but unhurt. Both cars were badly damaged. _i Judy Kay Curran Is 6— Mrs. Dale Curran entertained 10 girls and boys Sunday after noon in the O’Neill park in hon or of her daughter, Judy Kay, who was celebrating her 6th birthday anniversary. Mrs. Cur ran served refreshments consist ing of ice cream and cake. ,q~ Mr. and Mrs. Casper Winkler, of Emmet, received word that their little grandson, Jimmy Mc Kenzie, had died on Sunday, May 11. He was the 3-mOAtfcs old son of Mr. and Mrs. William McKenzie, of Brawley, C^lif. Mrs. McKenzie is the former Pauline Winkler, of Emmet. 5 Food Tables at Term-End Picnic REDBIRD—Over 100 people ga thered at the Redbird school Sun day, May 18, to enjoy a closing day picnic of the Redbird and Graham districts where Willa Schollmeyer and Leta Ross are teachers. At noon five tables of food and drinks were spread the entire length of the large building and the ice cream and cake were served at 5 o’clock. During the afternoon kittenball, horseshoe and races were all in action at the same time. Many pictures were taken. There were four eighth grade graduates from the Redbird school, namely: Dick Truax, Delores Wells and Larry and Doris Halstead. Donna Greene and pupils held their closing day picnic in the Mc Kenzie district Friday. Mrs. Maureen Tarr and pupils had a weiner roast Friday to close their term at the Carson school. Bev erly Carson and pupils and the patrons of the Star school enjoyed a school picnic at the Revell 17. Other Redbird New* Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Ross and sons departed the last of the week for their home at Weaverville, Calif. Alvin Luedtke and Dick Truax were Thursday over-night guests of Junior and Allen Wyant. Mr. Barnhart and son and Mr. Woods, of Wagner, S.D., came Sat urday to help Clay Mashino move his farm machinery from north of Bristow. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Halstead and family attended the com mencement exercises for Harold’s sister, Mary Halstead, at Page Tuesday evening, May 13. Mary plans to attend college at Wayne this summer. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Bessert called at the Ray Wilson and Fred Truax homes Monday eve ning. Ray Wilson and Bardy Scholl meyer called in the Jack Damnell and Junior Wilson homes Friday night. Mr. and Mrs- Gay Hull and baby were also callers that evening at Junior Wilson’s. Bruce Schollmeyer was a Mon day overnight guest of Dick Truax. Cecil Mashino, of near Spencer, was a Sunday, May 11, dinner guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clay Mashino. Lorraine Mashino and Bonnie and Betty Prokop, of Bristow, and Shirley Mashino, of Spencer, were also visitors there Sunday. Mrs. Carroll Bjomsen and chil dren, of O’Neill, were Thursday overnight visitors of her sister, Mrs. Harold Halstead and fam ily. They spent the weekend in the Leon Mellor home. Mrs. Gay Hull was hostess to a party Thursday. Ten ladies were present. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gehlsen and Cathy were O’Neill shoppers Saturday.
