NEBRASKA AUTHORIZING THE ISSU ANCE OF WATER BONDS OF SAID CITY OF THE PRINC1 PAL AMOUNT OF FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($15, 000) TO PAY THE COST OF PURCHASING FIRE EXTIN GUISHING APPARATUS FOR THE CITY. PRESCRIBING THE FORM OF SAID BONDS AND PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF TAXES TO PAY THE SAME. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF O’NEILL, NE BRASKA: Section 1. The Mayor and Ci ty Council of the City of O’Neill find and determine: That pursu ant to a resolution heretofore duly passed, an election was called to be held on the 3rd day of April, 1951, to submit to the legal voters of said City the question of issuing Water Bonds of said City of the principal amount of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000) for the purpose of purchasing fire extinguishing apparatus for said City; that no tice of said election was given by publication in the Holt County Independent, a legal newspaper published in the City and of general circulation therein for iiiuic uicin iwu weeKs prior 10 the date of such election, said notice being published in the is sues of said newspaper on March 15, 22 and 29, 1951; that said election was held at the time and place designated in said resolution and notice in accord ance with law, and at said elec tion the proposition of issuing bonds was submitted to the le gal voters of said City; that at said election 901 legal votes were cast on said proposition of which 578 votes were cast for said prop osition and in favor of issuing said bonds and 323 votes were cast against the proposition; that the issuance of said bonds has been duly authorized by more than three-fifths of the legal votes of the City cast for and a gainst the proposition at said election; that all conditions, acts and things required by law to exist or to be done precedent to the issuance of said bonds do exist and have been done in due form and time as required by law. Section 2. There shall be and there are hereby ordered issued Water Bonds of the City of O’ Neill, Nebraska of the principal amount of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000) for the purpose of paying the cost of purchase of fire extinguishing apparatus for said City; said issue shall con sist of fifteen bonds of One Thousand Dollars ($1000) each, numbered from 1 to 15 inclusive, dated May 1, 1952, and shall bear interest at the rate of Two and three - quarters per centum (2%%) per annum, payable semi-annually on the first day of May and November of each year, and the principal thereof shall become due on the first day of May, i9ii; provided, however, the City reserves the option of pi»yin„ any or all of said bonds at any time after five years af ter date. Attached to each bond shall be interest coupons. Sction 3. The City, how ever, reserves the option of re deeming this bond at any time after five years from date here of. Both principal and interest iiereof are payable at the office of the Treasurer of Holt County in ttie City of O’Neill, Nebraska. IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED AND WARRANTED that all con ditions, acts and things required by law to exist or to be done precedent to and in the issuance ol this bond, did exist, did hap pen and were done and per formed in regular and due fornp and time as required by law and that the indebtedness of said Ci ty including this bond does not exceed any limitation ifnposed by law. The Twice-a-Month card club met Saturday evening, March 15, at Dan Waegli’s. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Don Hynes and Lynda, Linda Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. John Schultz and girls and Dan Rakes. Linda Johnson and Dan Rakes had high. Beuna Hynes and John Schultz had low. A lunch was served with the St. Patrick’s motiff. Even the ice cream had a shamrock de sign with a green border. Next meeting is at Louis Brown’s on March 29. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Vequist and family had dinner on Sunday, March 16, at James McNulty’s. Rita Vequist, Donna McNulty and Jo Ann Lansworth attended tlie 4-11 fun night in O’Neill on Saturday evening, March 15, and sepnt the night at Mrs. Celia Grutsch’s.
