A teen-age party was held on
Sunday evening at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wilson
with Mary Louise Wilson and

party at the Royal following the
dinner.

Jensen and daughter will move to
the Frank Emsic’s acreage in east
Ewing, known as the Furley place.
Mr. and Mrs. Emsic and family
will move to a farm near Omaha.

The Altar society of St. Peter’s
•church, met at the home of Mrs.
Roy Rotherham Tuesday evening,
February 5. Twenty-seven mem
bers were present. After a short
business session at which presi
dent, Mrs. Arthur Kropp, pre
sided, the evening was soent play
ing card games. Mrs. Lyle Dierks
won the prize for high score in
bridge, Mrs. Arthur Kropp in pi
nochle, and Mrs. Arthur Spittler
in pitch. Refreshments were
served by the hostess, assisted by
Mrs. A. J. Sanders and Mrs, Frank
Shrad.

Mrs. Bertha Urban came home
Saturday, February 9, after spend
ing some time at Omaha and Bur
well.
Sunday, February 10, was a spe
cial day at the Robley Sisson, sr.,
home when Mrs. Sisson and son,
Gene, both celebrating birthday
anniversaries this month, were
the honored guests at a turkey
dinner. Not only the birthdays
were of special interest. This
was the first occasion over a long
period of time that Mr. and Mrs.
Sisson had their 8 sons together,
als a grandson. They are: Robley,
jr., Bill, who was recently dis
charged from the navy, Dana,
Jack, Gene, Jerry, Tom, Ronnie
and the grandson, Robley III. The
Sissons have 2 daughters, Marcel
la, who is a senior in high school,
and Mrs. Leonard Sorenson, of
Omaha. Mrs. Mary Snyder,
mother of Mrs. Sisson, who makes
her home with them, joined in
the event.

Amateur Program
LYNCH—An amateur contest
sponsored by the Lynch American
Legion auxiliary is planned for
Tuesday, March 4, at the Lynch
Legion hall.
Three cash prizes will be given.
Anyone wishing to enter may
contact Mrs. Don Allen at Lynch.
Persons or groups of persons of
any age may enter.

the stockyards and packing plants.

Grand Island to meet him.

sumption Blesed Virgin Mary
church Thursday afternoon, Feb
ruary 7. Mrs. Don Allen and Mrs.
Rose Kanslik were co-hostesses.
Twenty-one ladies were present.
It was voted that the society give
a polio fund contribution. In
stead of the regular social hour
after the business meeting the la
dies tied a quilt. Cherry pie and
coffee were served for lunch.
Dr. and Mrs. Joseph David en
tertained the latter’s sister and
husband, of Omaha, over the Feb
ruary 2 weekend.

political conventions at Butte on

A large crowd attended the
Friends of St. Mary’s card party
on Sunday Evening, held in the
gym at St. Mary’s academy. The
5th and 6th grade mothers spon
sored the party. Mrs. Victor
Halva furnished the door prize,
a lamb cake, won by Mrs. Oliver
Ross.
