Excello Club Plans
Blood Typing —
Mrs. Harry Mulhair entertained
the Excello project club Monday,
February 4, at Lynch. The club
discussed taking up the project of
blood typing. Mrs. Jack Darnell
and Mrs. Leland Moody are new
members.
Mrs. Earl Rosicky and Mrs.
Don Allen presented the lesson
on “quick breads." Much enthu
siasm was shown in this baking
lesson. Caraway bread, date-nut
bread and several kinds of muf
fins were baked and served with
salad and coffee.
The next lesson will be held at
the Don Allen haime.

O’NEILL— Mrs. John Grutsch
returned to her home Sunday
from Oakland where she had
been recuperating at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Leslie Ste
vens. She recently submitted to
major surgery in a Sioux City
hospital. . . Mrs. George Ham
mond and daughter, Margaret
Anne, returned home Tuesday.
Margaret Anne was bom Friday,
January 25, in St. Vincent’s hos
pital, Sioux City. Mr. Hammond
drove to Sioux City for them. . .

companied Mr. and Mrs. Herbert
Fox to Winnebago, Minn., Mon
day where she will consult an
eye specialist. . . Mrs. Earl Farr,
who entered Lutheran hospital,

surgery, is expected to be releas
ed from the hospital today

Mrs. Harry Sullivan has been re
leased from St. Catherine’s hos
pital, Omaha, where recently she
submitted to major surgery. She
is at the Edward Sparks home,
[>maha. . . Clarence J, Sauser has
been confined to his home this
week because of a leg ailment.
ATKINSON — Mr. and Mrs.
Warren Marr were in Stuart on
Tuesday, January 29. to call on
Mrs. Marrs’ father. Frank Greger,
sr., who is in the Community
hospital there. Mr. Greger, who is
in his 70s, received a very pain
ful bruise when he fell from an
underslung. Mr. Greger had at
tempted to jump on the rack af
ter the driver had started up
when passing through a gate. He
slipped and the back wheel ran
over his right shoulder. He is
“resting easy’’ at his home. . . .
Cecil Bogue had a small piece of
emery removed from his left eye
this week. The steel particle was
imbedded in the left eyeball and
a doctor was required to remove
it. . . Miss Frances Gottschall,
youngest daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Ernest Gottschall. was the
first surgical patient at Atkinson
Memorial hospital. Miss Gott
scha required immediate surgery
for the removal of her appendix.
Dr. F. J. Clark, of Stuart, per
formed the operation Sunday,
February 4. . . Mrs. William
Black is "improved” in Our La
dy of Lourdes hospital, Norfolk.
. . . Leona Kazda will leave Our
Lady of Lourdes hospital Sunday.
DELOIT — Zoe Ann Huffman
was ill with chickenpox recently,
instead of measles as stated ear- '
her. . . The 3 daughters of Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Schmiser have
been having measles. . . Shirley
Sehi is ill with measles. . . Shar
on Kallhoff had measles while
visiting her grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. G. A. Bauer. . . Douglas
Wulf, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Wulf, has the measles. . . Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Sehi went to Norfolk
last Thursday where Mr. Sehi had
a medical checkup. He recently
submitted to an operation.
CHAMBERS—Mrs. Paul Roth
left Thursday, January 31, for
Denver, Colo., to be with her fa
ther, H. C. Stewart, who is in a
convalescant home there. His
condition is "not improved." . . .
INMAN—Mrs. Leo Mossman
and Paul Bitner went to Lincoln
Saturday to bring Mr. Mossman
home from the Veterans hospital,
where he had been a patient.
