Bell performed the ceremony. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Hansen, of O’Neill. The couple will reside on a farm near Firth.—O’Neill Photo __ Theater Party for Young Ladies— Mrs. E. T. Gerin entertained 12 girls at a theater party on Sunday afternoon, January 13, in honor of her daughter, Susie, who was celebrating her 8th birthday an niversary. The girls played games after which they witnessed “Meet Me After the Show” at the Royal theater. Mrs. Gerin served a lunch of ice cream, cake and candy. Each girl had a sack of popcorn * at the show. Pleasant Day Club Holds Meeting— The Pleasant Day club met at the home of Mrs. Albert Wiai feldt on Wednesday, January 9, with all but 2 members present. After noonday luncheon a few business matters were taken care of and the remainder of the af ternoon was spent socially. Plans were made for a card party at Mrs. James Curran’s on Friday night, January 18. 500 Club in Session— The 500 club met on Wednes day, January 9, at the home of / Mr. and Mrs. P. T. Avard. High score was held by Mrs. Herman Janzing and Dean Jeffery; low went to Mrs. Arthur Brinkman and Herman Janzing. Lunch was served by Mrs. Avard. Next meeting will be January 23 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Determan. Serve Turkey Dinner— A turkey dinner was enjoyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Donlin on Sunday, Janu ary 13. The guests included Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Vernie Johnson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Curran and family and Mrs. Gertie Minahan. Mrs. Shierk Hostess— The Merri Myx club met on Tuesday afternoon, January 15, at the home of Mrs. Paul Shierk. There was a luncheon at 1:30 o’ clock. The Donald Simpsons ... cut ting their wedding cake. ★ ★ ★ Pojar - Simpson Nuptials in Texas VERDEL—Miss Helen Agnes Pojar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pojar, of Neligh, and Donald E. Simpson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Simpson, of Ver del, were married at St. Martin’s Catholic church in Kingsville, Tex., December 26. The bride’s attendant was Miss Mary Andrus and the bride groom was attended by his broth er, Eugene Simpson. The bride wore a pastel blue suit with a white carnation cor sage and Miss Andrus wore a grey suit with a pink carnation cor sage. A wedding breakfast immedi ately following the ceremony was held at the home of Mrs. Barbara Andrus in Kingsville. Mr. and Mrs. Simpson left after the ceremony for a short wedding trip to Galveston, Tex. They will imake their home in Kingsville after May, when the bride completes teaching in An | telope county. Mr. Simpson is I stationed in Kingsville. Linda Johnson missed school Monday due to the extreme icy condition of the roads. Mr. and Mrs. Art O’Neill and Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Stuart visit ed the Roy Margritz Wednesday evening. A new club has been formed to meet every 2 weeks to play cards and visit. Members are Mr. and Mrs. John Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Johnson, Ray Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Don Hynes, Mr. and Mrs. Don Waegli and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Brown at whose home the first meeting was held. Luber, news reporter. 'Yeast Rolls' Topic of Meeting — CHAMBERS—The Better Ways extension club met at the home of Mrs. James Butts on the eve ning of January 11. The new president, Mrs. Edwin Hubbard, called the meeting to order. Nine members were pres ent. Mrs. Ann Alday joined the club at this meeting which now ; makes 12 members. The lesson on “Yeast Rolls,” ■was given by Mrs. Edwin Huh bard and Mrs. Willard Thomson. They used the no-knead method. Some of the various kinds of rolls that were made were parkerhouse, cloverleaf, fan tans, knots, braids, also Swedish tea-ring with prune filling. Members played several games.
