License Plate
Shortage Seen —
LINCOLN — There may be a
motor vehicle license plate short
age when counties send in their
orders for additional plates next
year.
Assistant Director Owen Boyles
of the motor vehicle division said
an attempt is being made to ob
tain 100,000 pounds of metal. Ap
plications for authority to buy the
metal have not been approved yet.
“Even our saving all scraps and
using them for tabs will not meet
the need,’’ he explained.
