Rides Horse on 80th Birthday PAGE;—Mrs. Nora Henderson spent her 80th birthday anniver sary Friday al the farm of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Kennedy. While there she took a horse back ride. Mrs. Henderson “en joys very good health." She walks several blocks to church and is seldom absent. She also attends the WSCS and does much quilting. Jimmie Ballantyne came Wed nesday evening, November 21, to spend his Thanksgiving vacation with Mrs. J. O. Ballantyne and Faye Irene. He returned to Mil ford Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Roach and family spent Thanksgiving with Mrs. Roach’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grosse-Rhode, at Os mond. Mrs. Kenneth Braddock, Don ald, Gene and Audrey, of Omaha, spent from Wednesday evening, November 21, until Sunday after noon with relatives and friends at Page and relatives at O’Neill. Miss La Vonne Albright, who teaches at Mapleton, la., spent from Wednesday night, Novem ber 21, until Sunday with her mother, Mrs. Gaylord Albright. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Theo dore Kemper on Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. Orville Kemper and Dolores and Mr. and Mrs. Her bert Kemper and family. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Matschullat and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Matschul lat drove to Bloomfield for a de layed Thanksgiving dinner at the Albert Anthony home. Mr. An thony, who had spent 5 months in Greenland, had returned home Friday. He left Greenland by plane Wednesday afternoon, No vember 21, and arrived at Spring field Mass., Thursday after a 15 hour plane ride. He came to Omaha by plane and to Norfolk by bus. Mr. Anthony is a son-m ' law of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Mat schullat. Misses efface and Nelle Wood, who have employment at Neligh, visited relatives’ here Wednesday and Thursday, November 21 and 22. o Mr. and Mrs. Walter Asher and son, of Woodbine, la., and "Mrs. Dale Asher and sons of Fremont, came to Page Wednesday, No vember 21,°where Mrs. Dale Ash er visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Snell. The Walter Ashers visited with his jjjother, Mrs. George Park, and Mr. Park. They returned home Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Evo Beelart, Nan cy and Ronnie left Sunday for their home at Idaho Fails, Ida., after spending a week with rela tives at Page, Ewing and O Neill. Mrs. Rollie Snell accompanied Mrs. Ida Ryan to Stuart, Friday, where she visited her sister, Mrs. Alta Lockman, until Sunday. Mrs. Kenneth VanEvery was hostess to the Get Together club on Friday afternoon with o 12 members present. The group did needlework for the hostess who later served a luncheon. Laurence Haynes, of Atlantic, la., arrived in Page Wednesday evening, November 21, and en joyed Thanksgiving dinner with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Haynes. He returned to Iowa Thursday afternoon. On Satur day he returned to Page with his family. They were enroute to O'Neill where they will make their home. Mr. and (Mrs. Harry Harper and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Stauf fer and sons were dinner guests Thursday of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Stauffer. . Mrs. J. I. Gray entertained the Justamere club at a 2:30 p.m. des sert luncheon Friday alternoon. Six members were present. The club decided to hold their Christ mas party on December 7, at the home of Mrs. E. H. Farnsworth. There will be a nohost dinner and an exchange of gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Georgg Rost and Mrs. Amelia Larson were dinner guests Thursday at the Ralph Larson home. „ A group of relatives met at the Alton Braddock home for their Thanksgiving dinner. Dinner guests Thursday at the Robert Gray home were Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Stewart and Loren, Mr. and Mrs. J. I. Gray, and Leonard Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd McIntosh and sons visited Thursday with his mother, Mrs. Nelle McIntosh, and family. Miss Marie Heiss returned to Hastings Sunday after spending her vacation with homefoiks. She is librarian of the senior high school there. Mr. and Mrs. Soren Sorensen, jr., and Glenda, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sorensen and daughters, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ni^sen and daughters were dinner guests Thursday at the Soren Sorensen, sr., home. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Terrill drove to Council Bluffs, la., Tuesday, November 20, where they visited the former’s brother, Virgil. On Wednesday, November 21, they drove to Mhtondale, Kans., to bring their daughter, Miss Joan, who is attending school there, to their home in Page for a few days vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. John Sorensen and family spent Thursday in the homt of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon But terfield at O’Neill. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wood, of Centerville, S.D., spent Thurs day in the home of Mr. Wood’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wood. Mr. and Mrs. I. O. Wood were dinner guests Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Wil liamson. o Miss Elsie Laiinason, who has been employed at Norfolk for 3 weeks, returned to her home in Page on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wood en joyed having all their children at l home on Thanksgiving day. 1 They were: Mr. and Mrs. Ronald 1 Wood, of Centerville, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Harvey and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Asher and family and Noel Wood. Other guests included Misses Grace and Nelle Wood, of Neligh; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Neubauer, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Naubauer, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Summers and family, Mrs. Hester Edmiston, Paul Neubauer, and Edward Howard. A nohost dinner was served at noon. Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Copes had all of their family with them on Thanksgiving day. For the first -———— time they were all home togeth er. Those present included uien son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Mr. and Mrs. John Lamason and son, Wilson, were Thursday evening supper and overnignt guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Maricle at Albion. Mrs. Lamason and Mrs. Maricle are sisters. The hostess served luncheon. Leland Knudsen, of Manning, la., flew here Wednesday, No vember 21, for a short visit with his mother, Mrs. Helen Knudsen. Choral Union lo Present Christmas Cantata— The Lutheran choral union of zone N - 6, Nebraska Walther league, will present a Christmas cantata for mixed voices at the O’Neill high school auditorium on Wednesday evening, Decem ber 12. The cantata, written by Joseph W. Clokey and Hazel Jean Kirk, is entitled “Childe Jesus." The 80-voice chorus is under the direction of Rev. R. W. Olson, of O’Neill. O’NEILL NEWS Mrs. John Walmer, of Orchard, was a guest on Friday, November 23, of Mr. and Mrs. D. N. Loy. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lorenz and daughter, Pat, spent Thanks giving in Norfolk with Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Lorenz and family. Mrs. Lorenz and daughter stayed overnight and returned home on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. George Layh and daughter, Velma, were Thanks giving dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. Morgan, of Ainsworth. Mr. and Mrs. Junior Layh and family, of Burlington, Colo., were also guests. They came to O’Neill that evening and visited until Friday when they returned nome. Mr. and Mrs. Elias Timmer man and family, of Hastings, vis ited from Thanksgiving until Sun day with Mr. and Mrs. Dick Tim merman and family, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Timmerman and family, of Picks town, S.D., were also guests of the Dick Timmermans on Thanks giving.
