Mrs. Dora Townsend, of Page,
and Mrs. Anna Weinrich, of

On Sunday, August 26, Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Fleming accompanied
by their daughter and son-in-law,

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fleming
and her sister, Mrs. Dora Town
send, of Page, attended the dedi
cation of the new $30,000 Baptist
church at Chambers on Sunday.
This church was built in the
memory of Miss Jennie Adams,
who was sent as a missionary frotm
the Baptist church to the Philip
pine Islands, where she with 16
others were taken prisoners by
the Japanese during World War
II and was beheaded on Decem
ber 29, 1943, by the enemy. At
that time she was superintendent
of the hospital at Hopewell.
Mrs. Gene Strong and children,
of ONeill, are guests at the home
of her mother, Mrs. Eula Eppen
bach.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorraine Mont
gomery and son, Larry, moved to
Royal on Saturday where Mr.
Montgomery has employment on
a farm. The residence vacated by
the Montgomerys is now occu- I
pied by Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Cha
lupa and 2 children. Mr. Chalupa
is the music instructor of the
Ewing public school.

reared at Lynch.

been employed by the Corkle

500 Cattle Estimated for Today
• There will be approximately 500 head of cattle at the sale to
day (Thursday, September 6), including several fine bunches
of calves,, some yearlings (with several carload lots from the Or
chard area), some nice yearling steers which were brought in ear
ly this week, and the usual run of butcher cattle. A reasonably
strong market is predicted—about like a week ago.
• There will be between 500 and 600 head of hogs, including
several hundred feeders and lots of sows. The hog sale will
begin promptly at 1 o'ilock.
