Start New Home— Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Robinson and sons, Georgie, Floyd, jr., and Gene, and daughter, Mary Ann, surprised his brother, A. E. Rob inson, and family the Fourth by coming and helping start to build on the new modem house of his brother, just east of O’Neill. Mr. Robinson owns and operates the Laurel Heating and Plumbing. They all plan to come back Sunday again if weather permits. Mrs. Elizabeth Neiginfund spent the Fourth of July at the home of her son-in-law and daughter. While there she helped cook for the carpenters and ma sons as her daughter has been ill with a leg ailment since January. Mrs. Weeder Is Society Hostess— LYNCH— Mrs. Frank Weeder was hostess to the Catholic Altar society Thursday afternoon, July 5, with Mesdames Anton Kalkow ski and Jake Birmeier cohostess es. Twenty members were present. After the business meeting games were played with Mrs. M. P. Stenger, Mrs. Ray Counts and Mrs. George Kalkowski winning prizes. The hostesses served ice cream and cake and coffee for lunch. The next meeting will be held at the Lorie Micanek home with Mesdames Ray Alford and Leroy Purviance as cohostesses. McCar ville, jr., are vacationing this week. Mr. and Mrs. John Luben and daughter, of Crawford, left Fri day after spending 2 weeks in O’Neill visiting with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. McQuistan, of Bristow, were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. McGlasson. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde McKenzie and Mrs. Clyde Streeter returned Sunday after a week’s vacation. They had visited Mr. and Mrs. Ray Willaims and Colleen and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Huebert, of Sheridan, Wyo., after which they >ptin acvcidi uaya in uic Horn mountains. Mrs. Streeter took a side trip to Bililngs, Mont., before the group went to Lead, S.D., where they visited Mr. and Mrs. George Murray and Mrs. Martha Soukup. They then tour ed the Black Hills before return ing to O’Neill. During their ab sence Douglas McKenzie visited with Mr. and Mrs. Clyde McKen zie, sr., at Lynch; Carolyn Mc Kenzie stayed at the Dan McKen zie home in Dorsey, and Patricia McKenzie was a guest at the Dean Streeter home. Mr. and Mrs. Verle McKim, of Fresno, Calif., were Sunday guests at the Orville McKim home. Walter McNichols will leave Friday for Colorado Springs, Colo., and the West coast. Mrs. Charles Fox, Mrs. George Brainard and Mrs. William Kel ly spent the weekend in Kansas City, Kans., where they visited Carol Ann Fox. Mr. and Mrs. Noal E. Long re turned Sunday from 2 weeks’ va cation in Denver, Colo. Their daughters stayed with their grandparents, the Sam Robert sons, in their absence. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Wolfe and family left for their home in Fre mont Sunday after having been guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edward N. Flood over the Fourth of July. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Reising and 4 of their children, of Gary, Ind., arrived Sunday for a couple weeks’ vacation with Mrs. Reis ing’s mother, Mrs. Frank Phalin. Mrs. Rose Davey, of Valentine, visited her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Harden Ans pach, and family Sunday and Monday. The Anspachs and Miss Mavis Forsch were visiting Sun day in Mitchell, S.D., at the home of another sister. Mrs. Frank Car ter, and Mrs. Davey joined them there for the day. Dr. L. J. DeBacker and Jim Reilly, of Hastings, were July 4 guests at the G. C. DeBacker home. Capt. and Mrs. O. A. Moore and 2 sons, of Camp McCoy, Wise left last Thursday after a visit with her parents, Mr, and Mrs. James Earley. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kurtz and family were in Long Pine over the weekend. Mr and Mrs. Lawrence Ring, of Wakefield, and the latter’s sis ter and husband dropped in Sun day to visit Mr. and Mrs. John Donohoe, whom they hadn’t seen in quite a while. . Miss Jody Callaway, of Ains worth, arrived last Thursday for a visit with her brother-in-low and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Harold L. Calkins, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Buckmaster and family were July 4 guests in Neligh at the home of Mrs. Buck master’s mother, Mrs. Frank Hill. Miss Mary Carney left Friday for Sioux City to visit her sister, Mrs. Marguerite Curtis, and her daughter. Miss Marilyn. She re turned Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. William J. Froe lich left for Chicago, 111., Sunday. Bill Froelich and Edward T. Campbell returned to Creighton university, Omaha, after spend ing the weekend at home. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sixta flew over from Lynch Sunday to be dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Brady, jr.. and family. Dick Biglin. of Hastings, is vis iting relatives this week for a few days. Last Thursday E. A. Tunnicliff, of South Sioux City, visited Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beilin and fam ily. The Beilins returned with him to South Sioux City Friday and returned the same evening. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Bazelman and Ben and Dick Graham went to Ainsworth Sunday. Stanley B. Anderson left Mon day for Omaha on business. He expects to remain until Saturday. He has just been appointed a re seller salesman for Standard Oil. He had been a consumers sales man for the same company. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Switzer spent Sunday at the Ben Asher farm. Mr. and Mrs. John F. Storjo hann, Betty and Micky visited July 4 at Lake Andes, S.D., and Pickstown, S.D. Mrs. Gene Sanders returned Monday after spending several days in Omaha visiting her moth er, Mrs. Mary Applegate. They visited relatives and friends at Mansfield, Wash., Withrow, Wash., Casper, Wyo., and Chadron while away. Miss Ella Rita Schmidt return ed to Omaha Sunday after visit ing here for 2 weeks with her mother, Mrs. John Schmidt, and brothers, Andrew and Joe. Dr. and Mrs. J. L. Sherbahn, who had been vacationing for a month in Canada and on the West coast, returned Sunday, Ju ly 1. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Schroder, of Omaha, spent the weekend wdth Mrs. Schroeder’s parents, Mr* and Mrs. Robert Shoemaker. Miss Sharlene Shoemaker is viisting Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tom linson at West Point and other relatives in Omaha. She left on Thursday, July 5. Mrs. Arlan Kirk, of Spencer, vis ited Friday with her father, Tom Donlin, and with Mr. and Mrs. Mac Simonson. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jacot, of Spencer, spent Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Simpson. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Asher and daughter, Miss Roberta, left on Monday for California where they plan to visit for 3 weeks with Mrs. Asher’s father Guests at the Emmet Slaight farm July 4 were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Simpson. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fox and Junior Sobotka spent Ihe 4th at Lake Andes, S.D. Mrs. Dorothy A. Socha and daughters and Mrs. Richard Fox visited Sunday at the Joseph So botka home in Inman. Mr. and Mrs. John Cuddy and family arrived Friday for a visit at the A. F. Stanton home. Mr. Cuddy returned to Sioux Falls, S.D., Sunday, but Mrs. Cuddy and the children remained for a few more days. Mrs. Roy D. Johnson and 2 children and her grandmother, who have been visiting in a Chi cago, 111., suburb, northern Michi gan and Indiana, returned Sun day after a 2-months’ vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Appleby and children and Mr. and Mrs. Rob ert Asher were in Page Sunday visiting the Harold Ashers. Miss Peggy Aim and Ted Aim left Saturday for Billings, Mont., where they will pick up their sister. Miss Doris, who will re turn with them for a vacation. Miss Aim is employed by the bureau of reclamation in Bil lings. They are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Aim. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lamb and family, of Dixon, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Lamb and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Anderson. Mrs. Glenn Gettert left Mon day to spend 5 days with her par ents. Mr. and Mrs. John Laible, of Atkinson. Dr. H. L. Bennett left Sunday on his vacation. He will spend 3 weeks in Montana and in Yellow stone national park, Wyo. Mr. and Mrs. George Peterson, of Columbus, are vacationing for 2 weeks at the home of her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Clark. Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Melena left Sunday, July 8, for a vaca tion in the Western states. They left their baby with his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Me lena. Mrs. Anna W. McCartney left Tuesday, July 3, for a 2-week vacation. She planned to visit relatives in Des Moines, la., and Elkhorn, Wise. Entertains Pinochle Club— Pinochle club was entertained Monday evening by Mrs. Ralph McElvain. Prizes were won by Mrs. Clifford Harding, Mr*. Clarence Sauser and Mrs. Ralph Beckwith.
