fell down a flight of stairs 2

and received internal injuries. It
was thought she was improving
but she took a turn for the worse

Blanche Darr, of Sacramento,
Calif., came Wednesday, June 27,
to spend the summer with her
mother, Mrs. Hannah Stevens,
who has been rather poorly late
ly. . . Mrs. Roy Wilson has been
on the sick list for over a week.
. . MV's. P. T. Stevens, who has
been ill for some time, continues
on the sick list.

nah returned Tuesday, June 26,
from Our Lady of Lourdes hospi
tal in Norfolk. . . Clair Grimes
and G. H. Grimes drove to Sioux
City Wednesday, June 27, to meet
their brother and wife. Mr. and
Mrs. Jay Grimes, who were re
turning from Rochester, Minn.,
where Mr. Grimes had been for
medical care. . . . Mrs. Clara
Thorin became ill Saturday night
and was taken to the home of her
son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Clar
ence Thorin, at Neligh where she
is under the doctor’s care.
O’NEILL—Mrs. Carrie Borg is
on the sick list. . . Dennis Mur
phy has returned from St. Vin
cent's hospital in Sioux City. He
is reported to be “much improv
ed. . . W. M. Storts fell and
fractured his hip on Wednesday,
June 27. He is at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. Francis Clark, and
his condition is “pretty good.’’ .
Mrs. John Valla is in General
hospital at Lincoln wnero she re
cently submitted to major sur
gery. Mr. Valla returned to O’
Neill Monday.

returned Friday from St. Vin
cent’s hospital in Sioux City
where she has been a surgical
patient 10 days. Her sister, Mrs.
George Walters, is assisting at
the Schueth home during her
convalescence.
LYNCH—Little Marlene Streit
has infection in her arm follow
ing a severe burn. The burn is
causing her “much pain.” . . .
Frank Angus, of Butte, consulted
doctors here. . , Mrs. Sarah Dar
nell is ill with a heart ailment.
AMELIA—Miss Sharon Prew
itt, daughter of Mrs. Alice Prew
itt, had her tonsils and adenoids
removed at the Stuart hospital,
Wednesday, June 26.

Phyliss Shilousky celebrated
her 10th birthday anniversary on
June 22. In honor of the occasion
she entertained a number of fr
iends at an afternoon party. Out
door games provided entertain
ment. Refreshments were served
by Mrs. Shilousky.
On Wednesday afternoon, June
20, the mother - daughter tea
given by the Women’s Society
of Christian Service of the Ewing
Methodist church was well at
tended. Small tables were arran
ged in the church parlors at which
60 guests were seated. A clever
work basket scheme was carried
out by the decorating committee,
Mrs Lei and Welke, Mrs. Flor
ence Ebbengaard, Mrs. Waldo
Davis and (Mrs. J. L. Pruden.
Miss Anna Van Zandt and Mrs.
R. G. Rockey had charge of the
program.
