Mrs. Dean and Mrs. Pfiel are daugh ters of Mrs. Dierking. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Young and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Mitchell and children, and Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Hoerle and chil dren spent Sunday in Belden at the home of Mrs. Young’s par ents, Mr. and Mrs. John Mitchell. Also present was her brother, Lt. Cmdr. Lloyd Mitchell, who was home on leave from the navy where he had been on active ser vice in Korea for several months. Dewitt Hodge, who has been visiting friends and relatives at Norfolk and Wisner, returned on Thursday, June 28, to stay with his sister, Mrs. Charlotte Honey well. Mrs. Nellie Starr and Mrs. Vic toria Woods were Sunday dinner l. guests of Mrs. Charlotte Honev ' well. Edwin Wink drove to Neligh Sunday to bring Mrs. Wink and children home. They had been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Houston, since Wednesday, June 27. Mrs. Ethel Gibson and children, of Flint, Mich., are visiting her parents. Mr. and Mrs. A1 Leidtke, and other relatives and friends. Miss Eula Wintermote, of Ore gon, came last week and is visit ing her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Wintermote; her brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Guais Wintermote, and Carolyn, and sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Cook. Dorothy Jorgensen, of Hoskins, came Wednesday. June 20, and is visiting in the Art Walter home. Mr. and Mrs. John Reynolds and family, of Long Pine, visited her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Deed, and family Sun day, June 24. The Chambers band, under the direction of Ira George, gave a concert in front of the theater on Thursday evening, June 28. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grubb and family, of Ely, Nev., came on Thursday to attend the funeral service for his father. H. W. Grubb. They are also visiting her mother, Mrs. Mae Hubbard, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Shoemaker, of California, came on Wednesday, June 27, to visit his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Shoemaker. M. E. Carpenter returned to his home at Oakdale Monday after visiting since June 21 in the E. R. Carpenter home. The Page Boy Scouts met Fri day evening at the Methodist church basement with Scoutmas ter Carl Max, Assistant Leader Melvin Roach and 10 members present. Questions were answer ed about the Scout camp to be held at Cedar Bluffs that will be attended by Eddie Walker, Larry noacn, uoya r ussieman, i^arry Park, Dick Stewart, Veldon Gray and Darrell Grass. They left July 1 at 10:30 a.m. and planned to have a picnic dinner at Norfolk and arrive at camp at 2 p.m. Camp will last 7 days. Games were played at the meeting and it closed with the camp prayer. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Benner, of West Point, and Misses Emily, Louise and Ida Kemper visited recently at the Theodore Kemper home. The Royal Neighbor Kensing ton met Wednesday afternoon, June 27, at the home of Mrs. Eve lyn Gray where a social after noon was spent. A covered dish lunch was served. Mr. and Mrs. Soren Sorensen, sr., spent Friday at the home of their son, Russell Sorensen, and family near Creighton. | Sullivans Take Southern Trip— Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Sullivan and Patty returned Saturday from a southern vacation of almost 3 weeks. They went through the Ozarks and then on to San An tonio, Tex., where they visited Mr. Sullivan’s sister and her hus band, Dr. and Mrs. L. C. Snear ly. Mrs. F. R. Coe and Kathryn, of Ft. Dodge, la., who accompan ied the Sullivans, remained at the Snearly home for a longer visit. , The Sullivans took many inter esting side trips. They visited Huston and New Orleans, where they stayed for 3 days. They found the French quarter very interesting. One of the highlights f of the trip was a visit to the country described in “Evange line” by Henry W. Longfellow. In Mississippi they stayed at Gulf port a few days and then they came back through the Ozarks. They visited friends in Omaha for a few days before returning home.
