    Presbyterian Circles
Hold Meetings—
The circles of the Women’s as
sociation of First Presbyterian
church met Wednesday, June 20.
Rev. Ralph Gerber gave the les
son for each circle. His topic was
“The Rural Prospect."
Circle I met at the church par
lors. Mrs. Frank Mahaffey was in
charge of devotions. Hostesses
were Mrs. Melvin Klingler, Mrs.
Albert Klingler and Mrs. Dwight
Harder.
• Circle II met at the home of
Mrs. R. H. Parker. Mrs. L. A.
Carter and Mrs. F. A. Miles as
sisted. Mrs. Carter led devotions.
Circle III met at the home of
Mrs. Mabel McKenna. Mi’s. Jack
Davis assisted and Mrs. Mark
How'ard had devotions.
Weekend in Columbus
for Young Set—
A group of young people were
guests in an island cabin in Col
umbus over the weekend. The
cabin belongs to the Hiles, par
ents of Mrs. George Janousek.

Mrs. Bill Kelly, Mr. and Mrs.
George Bosn, Charles Fox, Mr.
and Mrs. James Earley, Mr. and
Mrs. Russell D. Moler, Joe Biglin,
Mr. and Mrs. George Janousek,

Miss Haynes Signed
for 1951-'52—
Miss Viola Haynes, O’Neill
public high school teacher, has
been signed for the 1951-’52
school term. The announcement
was made Tuesday by Ira Moss,
secretary of the O’Neill board of
education.
Miss Haynes has taught here
for 3 years.
4 Altar Society
To Meet—
St. Patrick’s Altar society will
hold its regular monthly meeting
Thursday, July 5, at the KC hall.
St. Catherine’s guild will enter
tain. Mrs. James Carney is chair
man.
Country Club Dinner
Season Opens—
Mrs. Norman Gonderinger was
chairman, assisted by Mrs. Gene
Cantlon, at the first fortnightly
Country club dinner held Sunday
evening at the clubhouse.

Open-house was held Tuesday,
June 12, at Anoka in honor of
the golden wedding anniversa
ries of 3 girlhood friends.
The honorees were: Mr. and
Mrs. John Demming, of Anoka;
Mrs. Harriet Rohr, of Herrick,
S.D., and Mrs. E. J. Eby.
Miss Harris Expected
in O'Neill Soon—
Miss Ruth Harris is expected
to arrive this weekend at the
home of her mother, Mrs. Esther
C. Harris. Miss Harris recently
returned from 4V6 years in China
as a missionary. Her return itin
erary included stops in Europe.
Hand in Certificates—
The Inman victory boys’ and
girls’ 4-H club met at the IOOF
hall Friday evening, June 22,
with 33 members present and 7
absent. During the business meet
ing the money and health certi
ficates for 4-H camp at Long Pine
were handed in.

Little Jimmy Van Every cele
brated his 4th birthday anniver
sary Tuesday. His 12 little guests
went to the park for games and
also had refreshments, rle is a

Jeanette Hart Weds—
Miss Jeanette Julia Hart,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amos
Hart, of Bassett, became the
bride of Kenneth Leonard in a
ceremony performed at Bassett
Tuesday, June 26.
Miss Hart graduated this spring
from St. Mary’s academy.

baked by Mrs. Sam Robertson
and Mrs. George Nelson, who are
sisters of Mr. Walters.
The afternoon was spent visit
ing and taking pictures.
At 4:30 ice cream was served
by Mrs. Noal Long, Pauline And
erson, Naomi Nelson, Helen
Young and Arlene Walters. Mrs.
Dewayne Anson had charge of
the guest book. Mr. and Mrs.
Walters received many gifts.
Francis Murray
Takes a Bride
Miss Doris Marie Muenster
mann and Francis A. Murray
were married in a 10 a. m. cere
mony at St. Patrick’s church, in
Kankakee, 111., on Saturday, June
16.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester A. Muen
stermann, of Kankakee, and the
bridegroom is the son of Francis
H- Murray, of O’Neill.
Celebrant at the nuptial high
mass was was Rev. J. F. Meara,
of Kankakee, assisted by Rev.
Alfred Herbert, of LaCrosse,
Wise., and Rev. James (Naughtin,
of Athens, 111.
The bride’s gown was of impor
ted Chantilly lace with a nylon
and rayon marquisette yoke. The
skirt was fashioned with inserts
of lace and ended in a long train.
The sleeves were long and poin
ted over the wrists. The fingertip
veil trimmed with Chantilly lace
fell from a bonnet style head
piece. She carried a bouquet of
Amazon lilies and stephanotis.
Her string of pearls was a gift
from the bridegroom.
Mrs. Kenneth C. Harvey at
tended her sister as matron of
honor and Miss Zerita Muenster
mann, also a sister of the bride,
was bridesmaid. T' e blue
gowns of taffeta and
carried arm bouquets of roses.
Edward Murphy, cousin of the
bridegroom, served as bestman.
Groomsman was Howard Lyon.
A reception for 200 guests was
held at the home of the bride’s
parents in the afternoon.
Murray is a graduate of O’Neill
high school. He attended Notre
Dame university and Iowa State
College, where he graduated with
with a bachelor of science degree.
He is now employed as an indus
trial engineer by the Public Ser- |
vice Company of Northern
Illinois. |

of Albion.
Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Dugger, of
Bassett, who lived in O’Neill for
4 years during the 1920's, were
visitors here Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hungerford
and son, of Newport, formerly ol
O’Neill, were Friday supper
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray W.
Lawrence. They visited Saturday
at the home of her sister, Mr. and
Mrs. Merritt Pierson. They also
visited other relatives and
friends.

Wednesday, June 20, for a visit
of a week or more with her par
