Mr. and Mr. Ray Pettinger, of Brighton, Colo., to Worthing ton, la., on Sunday, June 3. They attended the first mass of Rev. Ernest Engler, who is a cou sin of Mrs. Kunz and Mr. Petting er, on Tuesday, June 5. They also visited relatives at Dversville and Dubuque, la., and attended the funeral of an aunt at Sigour ny. Ia„ on Thursday. They returned to Stuart that evening where the Pettingers visited with her mtoher, Mrs. Es tella Bachman, and other rela tives. They left for their home Sunday evening, June 10. Gunners to Ready Pens for Pheasants C. W. Porter, president of the O'Neill Gun club. Monday stated that all sportsmen in the O’Neill region are urged to be present Friday afternoon and evening at at the Louis Vitt farm, south of town. The club has a pheasant project underway. O’Neill Wallops Long Pine, 8-2 The O’Neill entry in the North Central Nebraska day-and-night league spanked Long Pine, 8-2, Sunday on the O’Neill hilltop diamond. Dick Clark, Rocket rightfielder, batted with a perfect record, col lecting 5 hits in 5 trips. Darrel Graham and Don Godel were hot on the O’Neill mound, keeping Long Pine in the hole all afternoon. Graham allowed 3 hits and 1 run while striking out 6. Godel yielded 2 hits and 1 run and setdown 4. Meanwhile, Bartlett blasted Inman at Inman, 9-3. Both elubc collected 10 hits but 9 Inman bobbles cost the ball game. Ken nedy was the winning pitcher; Milo Gorgen, loser. Board Proceedings (Continued from page 7) Motion by Clark, seconded by Hubbard, that the following reso lution be adopted: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Edith Calella Eliz azeth Lech is a mental incompe tent, and a legal resident of Holt County, Nebraska, but since No vember 12, 1934, has been an in mate of the State Hospital at Norfolk, Nebraska; and WHEREAS, on the 22d day of December, 1938, Frances Searles, a sister of the said Edith Calella Elizabeth Lech, as duly and le gally appointed her Guardian by the County Court of Holt Coun ty, Nebraska, which Court has jurisdiction in such proceedings and over said incompetent; and WHEREAS .upon the death of Frances Searles, Guardian of said incompetent, Lowell A. Johnson, a brother of said Edith Calella Elizabeth Lech, was duly and le gally appointed her successor Guardian by the County Court of Holt County Nebraska; and ' WHEREAS, upon the death of lella Elizabeth Lech, who is also known as Calella Lech, is the owner of an undivided one-sev enth right, title, interest and ownership in and to the follow ing described real estate, situated in Holt County, Nebraska, to wit:— All of Section Twenty-nine, ex cept the South Half of the Southwest Quarter, and the Southeast Quarter of Section Twenty, all in Township Twen ty-nine, North Range Thirteen, West of the 6th P. M., in Holt County, Nebraska; and WHEREAS, her said Guardian, Lowell A. O’Connor appeared be fore the Board asking a reduc tion on the valuation on NEV4 of 20-29-13. Winnie Barger entered a com plaint on the valuation placed on Lot 3, Block 31, Original towiy of O’Neill. She states it is too high in comparison with other houses of the same type. James Kubart asked to have the valuation on Lot 1 Neeley’s Addition to Atkinson decreased from $1415.00 to $1000.00. G. E. Moor complained that there is too great a variation in the value placed on East % and West xk of 21-27 and ask ed the Board to equalize it. 4:00 P. M.
