Tom Meuret Family Reunion June 17 AMELIA — The Tom Meuret famliy, of Burwell, will hold a family reunion at the park in Atkinson on June 17. Other Amelia News Harold Chapman, of Topeka, Kans., came Tuesday to visit he mother, Mrs. George With ers. Mr. Chapman, who was 55 years old on Decoration day, has never missed a year being with his mother on that day. Mrs. Stella Sparks and Lon nie, and Mrs. Gertie Adair at tended the circus in O’Neill on Tuesday, May 29. Bill Gilman returned home from Cody, May 29, where he has been working. He will stay here this summer. Bob Adair, who entered the army last falL writes home that he is driving a big armored tank in Korea. He is very close to the battle lines and has been through the city of Seoul. He is also a gunner’s mate. Prof, and Mrs. Bower Sageser and Sandra Jean of Manhattan, Kane., visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Link Sageser, and oth er relatives over Memorial day. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Moss of Columbus, visited his sister, Mrs. A. E. Saimmons, and Mr. Sammons last weekend. She returned to O’Neill Monday morning where she is staying with Mrs. Mary Vitt, who has been ill. Miss Delores Doolittle is at tending summer school in Fre mont. Mr. and IMrs. Clinton Doolittle and family are visiting at Scots toluff with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Dierks. Mr. and Mrs. Art Doolittle and Cleone and Dale were dinner guests at the home of Edgar Peterson Sunday. Miss Connie Barnett visited her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Alderson, in Chambers, last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Johnston spent Memorial day at Holdrege, returning home Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Winnings did the chores for them while they were away. Gus Fuller, of Sterling, vis ited at the F. C. Watson home this week, and attended Memorial services at Chambers. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn White, Myrtle and Venita, Ardath Bar nett and Charles Atkinson went to McPherson, Kans., Thursday, where they attended graduation exercises. Glenice White was a member of the graduation class. Miss Ann Saunto of O’Neill, visited Karen Ann Carr last week. Arlin Leder went to Denver, Colo., Thursday, where he will visit his brother, Cpl. Bob Le der, and also look for employ ment. Mrs. Lizzie Backaus, of Co lumbus, visited, at the Lew and Frank Backaus homes last week. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Br^wn and daughters of Grand Island, vis ited Mrs. Brown’s father, Chas. Sigman, and also attended Me morial day exercises at Cham bers. Jeanine Doolittle Will Wed Sunday AMELIA—Miss Jeanine Doo little, daughter of (Mrs. Elsie Doolittle, will be married Sun day, June 10, to Ivan Roth, of Atkinson, at the Lutheran church in Atkinson. She was honored at a miscel laneous shower Friday, June 1, at the home of Mrs. George Ful lerton. The program, sponsored by Mrs. Blake Ott and Mrs. Har old Fullerton presented “Gos sip and Other Happenings Heard, on a Country Telephone Line.” This included: “A Recipe for a Wedding Cake," by Margie Sammons; “Sammons’ Radio,” by Phyllis and Nancy Watson, sing ing “On Top of Old Smoky," and “Beautiful Brown Eyes"; “Mu sic Lessons at Lindsey,” by Ro chelle Sammons, and Marcia Widiman playing a piano duet; “Chae. Sigman’s Radio Phono graph," by Vivian and Delores Harley singing "May the Good Lord Bless Thee," and “Some Sunday Morning," and finally Mrs. Harold Fulleron relating to Mrs. George Fullerton a de scription of the wedding.
