sure Island” theme was carried
out. The girls also took part in
the program given at the prom at
the Legion hall following the
banquet. Those from Emmet who
attended the banquet and prom
were: Leah Serck, Dolly Grunke,
Don Kloppenborg and Jay and
Larry Gene McConnell.
Mrs. Bob Mathis, of Atkinson,
was a Sunday dinner guest at
the Jack Murphy home.

birthday party Friday afternoon

from Friday until Sunday with

afternoon at the homes of Mr.
Miller’s 2 sisters, Mrs. Robert
Gray, and family, and Mrs. Ar

brother, Leonard Miller.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Fussleman
and daughter, Diana, attended
funeral services at St. Edward
Friday for Mrs. Fussleman’s
nephew, James Fussleman, 9.
James, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Ira Fussleman, was accidently
killed at the farm home near St.
Edward.

nesday afternoon, May 2, with
Mrs. Herbert Steinberg. Mrs.

Mrs. Lloyd Fussleman. The host
ess served a lunch.

Pupils and Board
INMAN—James Cronk, teach
er of district 111, entertained his
pupils and school board members
at home Thursday, May 3. After
a supper, al lenjoyed a theater
party. On Saturday, the older
boys participated in the Holt
county track meet at Atkinson,
bringing home 2 firsts, a second
and a third ribbon.
School closed with a communi
ty picnic Sunday.
Mr. Cronk has been reelected
for the coming year.

and Omaha where they will join
Mr. Kelly, who has employment
there.

Eldon was born and raised here
and has been in California since
joining the navy.
Mrs. A. N. Butler left Friday
for Neligh and spent the night in
the J. H. Butler home and on
Saturday morning she accompan
ied Mr. and Mrs. Butler to Inde
pendence, Mo., where they will
spend several days visiting rela
tives.
