Johring-Fleener Nuptials Read The sanctuary of the Church of Christ in O’Neill was the scene of a simple, impressive wedding ceremony Sunday, April 8, at noon when Mrs. Martha L. Johr ing, of O’Neill, became the bride of Clarence Fieener, of Madison, in the presence of 120 guests. A. C. Uttenback, of Clearwat er, who serves as minister of the O’Neill congregation, performed the double-ring ceremony. Preceeding the ceremony, Miss Shinjey Johring, younger daugh ter of the bride, who is a student of Minnesota Bible college, Min neapolis, Minn., sang “At Dawn ing,’” by Cadman. Immediately following the exchange of vows she sang “Together With Jesus,” by Fromm. Mrs. Howard Man son, of O’Neill, accompanied (Miss Johring and also played a med ley of hymns and traditional wed ding marches. The bride was charmingly at tired in a navy two-piece crepe suit accentuated with blush pink nylon lace on the pink frilly ves tee and the three-quarter length sleeves. She wore a navy straw hat and carried pink gloves and a pink linen handkerchief. She also carried a white New Testa ment, which was a gift of the bridegroom. Her shoulder cor sage was of white carnations and mauve sweet peas. me oriaegroom wore a navy blue business suit. The bride groom and ushers, Howard Man son and Norris George, both of O’Neill, wore white carnation boutonnieres. Mrs. Bennie Johr ing, daughter-in-law of the bride, had charge of the guest Dook. The wedding dinner and re ception were held at the bride’s farm home northeast of O’Neill in the Meek neighborhood. Mrs. Donald Johring, daughter-in-law ^ of the bride, was in charge of the dinner and was assisted by members and friends of the fam ily. Nearly 70 guests enjoyed the two-course dinner. In the center of the serving table was the 3-tier wedding cake which was baked by Mrs. Melvin Johring, daughter-in-law of the bride, who decorated it in pink-and-white and topped it with a miniature bride and bride groom. After a short wedding trip the couple will be at home at Madi son. Out-of-town guests for the wedding included: Mr. and Mrs. Vern Fleener and sons, of Coleridge; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Blankenfeld and family, of Niobrara: Mr. and Mrs. Dean Mohr, of Coleridge; Mr. and Mrs. Lou Goeke and family, of Atkin son; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Goeke and Mrs. Charles Diehl, of Atkinson; Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Storjohann and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Storjohann and family, of Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Con tois and Rollie Dean Curtis and (Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Miss Froelich Feted at Shower— Miss Jane Froelich, of Omaha, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Froelich, was guest-of-honor at a personal shower Saturday. Miss Nanicy Froelich, of Duchesne col lege, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Froelich, was hostess for her cousin at a 1:30 p.m. luncheon and personal shower at the Athletic club. There were 18 guests present. Weiner Roast For Girl Scouts— The fifth grades of the Girl Scouts were hostesses at a wein er roast at Ford’s park Wednes day, April 4. The guests were members of the other three troops. Mrs. Harold L. Lindberg is captain of the troop that en tertained. Mrs. Early Is Honored— Mrs. Russell Moeller and Mrs. George Janousek were hostesses at a stork shower Sunday in hon or of Mrs. James W. Early. McKamys Are Hosts— Mr. and Mrs. Don A. McKamy entertained at a card party last Thursday evening. Friends of St. Mady's Meeting Monday — There will be a meeting of the friends of St. Mary’s Monday at 7:30 p.m. 1 New Teacher for 1951-’52 Term CHAMBERS—The board of ed ucation of the Chambers public school has contracted the follow ing teachers for the 1951-’52 term: L. J. Ekdall, superintendent; Nick Schmit. principal; Thomas Hutton, coach: Dorothy Bowman, home economics; Grace New house, 6th, 7th and 8th grades; Clara Harley, 3d, 4th and 5th grades; Lorine Smith, kinder garten, 1st and 2d grades. Miss Bowman is from Albion and will be the only new mem ber of the teaching staff. Other Chambers News Mr. and Mrs. Torn Osborne, of Wisner, came to Chambers Sun day to bring her sister, Mrs. Lela Grubb, home. Mrs. Grubb had visited for the past week with her sister and husband. Sunday guests in the home of Mrs. Victoria Woods were: Mrs. Ida Anderson, of Norfolk: Mr. and Mrs. Tom Osborne, of Wis ner; Mr. and Mrs. Kenenth Ad ams, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Baker, Mr .and Mrs. Ray Grubb, Mr. and Mrs. Guais Wintermote and Caro lyn. and Mrs. Lela Grubb. Mrs. C. F. Gillette’s mother, Mrs. Bachman, of Stuart, came Sunday to spend a few days with her daughter and husband. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Reming ton and two daughters, of Sedro Wooley, Wash., came the forepart of last week to visit friends in the Chambers and Amelia com munities. Both Mr. and Mrs. Remington are former residents. He is the younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Remington, who re sided for many years south of Amelia. Mrs. Remington’s par ents were Mr. and Mrs. John Dickerson, who formerly lived northeast of Chambers. All of these people now reside at Sedro Wooley. The following friends were present Thursday afternoon to help Nadine Sexton celebrate her 4th birthday anniversary: Robbie and Stevie Corcoran. Mrs. John Honeywell, Mrs. Charlotte Honeywell. Mrs. Steve Shavlik and Mrs. Edwin Hubbard attended the funeral services for Mrs. Mert Dierks at Ewing Satur dav afternoon. The American Legion auxiliary met Friday evening, April 6, at the home of Mrs. Geneva Fagon with 11 members present. The president, Mrs. J. W. Walter, was in charge of the business meet ing. Plans were discussed for honoring the Gold Star members at the next meeting. Lunch was served by the committee. Hear Report on StateWSCS Meet CHAMBERS — The Women’s Society of Christian Services met Thursday, April 5, at the home of Mrs. C. V. Robertson. Twenty-six members, 5 visitors and several children were pre sent. The business session was con ducted by the president, Mrs. Chas. Grime. Plans were discus sed for a mother-daughter to be held on Friday, Mary 4. A report by the state presi dent, Mrs. E. Jackman, of Nor folk, on the state meeting of the WSCS, which was held in Lin coln, was read by the secretary, .wrs. Glen Adams. Mrs. Nellie Stan- had charge of the devotionais. Mrs. E. R. Carpenter presented the lesson on “The Changing Pattern for Women.” Lunch was served by the hos tess. The next meeting will be on April 19, at the home of Mrs. John Honeywell. O'NEILL LOCALS Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hershiser and Mrs. Jennie Hershiser drove Pvi. Francis Hershiser to Co lumbus Saturday. He left there ito report to Camp Stoneman, I Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shelhamer and Roy J. Shelhamer returned last Thursday from Sioux City. Mrs. Roy Bearee, of Creighton, was the guest for a week at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Don En right. Retired Judge J. V. Dwyer, of Butte, Mont., is visiting his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Stout. D. D.
