School Suspended Because of Storm DELOIT—No school was held in the rural districts in the Deloit vicinity due to the storm condi tions on Friday. About 6 inches of snow fell during the morning. Other Deloit News Several from here attended the district basketball tournament at Bartlett Friday and Saturday. Eleven hundred persons attended the last game of the tournament and made good use of the new auditorium. Carl Wulf and family are mov ing from Ewing to the Bill Wulf farm. The Claude Elliot family are moving to the Mueller farm near St. John’s. M. B. Huffman, of Ewing, made a business trip to this com munity Monday evening. Farm Bureau met Monday, March 5, at Frank Bohn’s. HEO club is to meet March 8 at the Anton Shavlik home. Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Huffman spent Sunday at the Stanley Huffman’s. Charles Selby will show color- j ed pictures of the Philippines at the Church of Christ Saturday evening at 8 o’clock in Ewing. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Larson and Don spent Sunday, February 25, at the Harold Mlinar home near Emmet. Mrs. Gene Ray and her sister in-law, of Omaha, visited at the Ralph Tomjack home recently. Gene Ray is stationed at San Di ego, Calif. Mrs. Cratty, 93, of Elgin, pass ed away Tuesday, February 27. She was the mother of B. A. Cratty. Funeral services were held on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. H. Manson, of O’ Neill, were visitors at the S. Anderson home Wednesday eve ning, February 28. Mrs. Ehlum, of Falls City, mother of Mrs. Stanley Huffman, left Friday after spending 10 days at the Huffman ranch home. Next day Harold left for Magnet to assist his uncle on the farm. Dr. J. C. Ramsey Is New Stuart Physician -- STUART—Dr. and Mrs. J. C. Ramsey and baby daughter mov ed to Stuart Friday, March 2. Doctor Ramsey’s family will live in the house recently build by Norris Coats and will have his office in the building south of | the Ford garage. Volunteers haive just complet ed the redecorating of the three room office building. Doctor Ramsey received his doctor of medicine degree at the University of Nebraska college of medicine in Omaha in March, 1946. He served 30 months in the army and was chief of general surgical service at the Toyko general hospital in Japan for a year with six subordinate sur geons. He was also commanding pff icer and ward officer in orthopedics at the U. S. army dispensary and the U. S. army general hospital in Korea. Dr. Ramsey has been associated with Dr. C. L. Marsh, obstetric ian at Valley, for the past year. I ‘Love Pirates* Plays at Stuart Today STUART—“Love Pirates of Hawaii,” an operetta, will be pre sented by the Stuart high school today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. and at 8 p.m. The story of the oper etta is of an old maid who woos the dangerous pirate chief.
