Lions Suffer First
Setback at Ainsworth
AINSWORTH —The high-rid
ing O’Neill Lions were handed
their lirst setback of the season
Wednesday, December 13, in a
non-league fray with the Ains- 1
worth All-Stars, 55-52. It was a
rough-and-tumble affair, howev
er, and roughing the shooter was
common practice. Twenty-eight
personal fouls were called.
Ainsworth led 14-10 at the first
quarter, 27-16 at the half, and
41-28 at the end of the third.
Elmer Blackbird, Lynch coach
and sharpshooting O’Neill for

ors with 20 points. He is a former
Wayne State star.

Friday night, dumping Rock
county high (Bassett), 51-31, on
the Bassett court.
Forward Don Godel and Cen
ter Ted Lindberg were the prin
cipal thorns in the side of the
Rock countyans, collecting 20
and 17 points respectively.
Score was knotted 9-all at the
end of the first frame. The Blues,
spurted in the second stanza to
take a 31-15 lead and coasted the
rest of the way.
Bassett reserves copped a
thriller, 24-20.
