CHAMBERS —Glee Grimes is
a patient at the Methodist hospi
tal in Sioux City where he was
taken on Friday, October 18. Mrs.
Grimes is with him. His son,
Clarence, who took them down,
returned Saturday. . . Chauncey
Wood underwent a major opera
tion at the Methodist hospital in
Omaha on Friday, October 20. . .
Mrs. Wade Davis underwent a
major operation at the Lutheran
hospital in Norfolk on Friday,
October 20. . . Mrs. Donald Grimes
returned Wednesday, October 1,
from the Methodist hospital in
Sioux City.
AMELIA — Mrs. Wade Davis
underwent major surgery at a
Norfolk hospital last week . . .
Mrs. Floyd Adams who underwent
major surgery at Our Lady of
Lourdes hospital in Norfolk, was
able to return home Sunday, Oc
tober 21 . . . Edgar Peterson who
was a patient in Our Lady of
Lourdes hospital in Norfolk last
week, was able to return home
Saturday . . . Leslie Forbes, small
son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Forbes,
had his tonsils and adenoids re

LYNCH — Mrs. Frank Kayl is
recuperating at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Frank Weeder . . .
T. J. Graham, of Dorsey, is on the
sick list and has been confined to
his bed the past 10 days • . . Amos
McColley, of Verdel, is at the Vet
erans hospital in Sioux Fall, S. D.,
for a checkup . . . Several child
ren in town have the whooping
cough. . . Marion Borrall, of
Butte, consulted Lynch doctors
this week.

was sick several days the past
week with the influenza. . . No
school was held at Celia from

ed a broken bone in his right foot
ruesday in an accident at Ericson.

23. . . Willard Naprstek, who is
a patient in Our Lady of Lourdes
hospital in Norfolk, is reported

ATKINSON — Ivan Dickerson
was taken to the Ainsworth hos
pital for a medical checkup last
week . . . Mrs. Gene Livingston
was on the sick list a few days
last week and had to close her
school . .. Robert Martens was ac
cidently bitten by a dog last week,
but was not seriously wounded.

STUART — Mark Kaup, high
school boy, who received a brok
en leg when a truck load of school
boys upset, underwent surgery at
St. Joseph’s hospital in Omaha on
Monday, October 16. Hospital at
tendants say he will be home on
crutches in two weeks.

EMMET — Bud Newton, who
has been a patient at the Veterans
hospital at Sioux Falls, S. D., for
treatment of lukemia, returned
home Tuesday evening, October
12. He is “much improved.”

Mrs. Spindler, 66,
Dies in California
Funeral services were held on
Thursday afternoon, October 19,
at the James Reid funeral home
at Glenwood, la., for Mrs. Nellie
Blair Spindler, 66, who died on
Friday in San Leandro, Calif.
Rev. J. W. Walker officiated.
Mrs. Spindler was the daughter
of th late Capt .and Mrs. J. A.
Blair. Reared in Glenwood, la.,
she spent much of her married
life at O’Neill.
Survivors include: Sons —
James, of Detroit, Mich., and Le
roy, of Oakland, Calif.; daughters
—Mrs. Mary Dotson, of San Le
andro, and Mrs. Leone Blevins,
of Hayward, Calif.; grandchildren
