Knights Install Luncheon Bar ATKINSON—The Knights of Columbus have installed a luncheon bar and card room in their hall for their members. John Henning is in charge. They held their opening, Oc tober 1. Other Atkinson News The Pricilla club met at Mrs. Butterfield’s farm home. Gene Dickerson and Warren Kelly enroute to the football game in Lincoln wrecked their car about 3 miles from Lincoln Friday evening, September 29, when the car went out of con trol. Both were hopitalized ov er night. Warren was dismissed the next day and took in the game and Gene was remove^ to Warren’s sister's home, Mrs Fredrick Alexander, in Lincoln. Stolcpart and sons, Rickey and Randy, of Newport, visited at the Frank Hanel home Sunday, October 1. Mrs. J. R. Castner went to Lincoln Friday, September 29, and her husband joined her there Sunday, October 1, and they returned home Monday evening. Hans Bogue drove to O’Neill on business Friday, September 29. Mr. and Mrs Walter Puckett and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mc Connell are attending the Ak Sar-Ben and visiting at the Harry Little home in Omaha this weeek. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Cone, of O’Neill, spent Sunday and Mon day at the Ralph Reis home. Mrs. Don Engler and Mrs. F J. Hanel accompanied Mrs. A. Max Karo and her daughter, Dorothy Ann, to Norfolk Thurs day, September 28. Clarence Schindler and neph ews, Earl and Wilbur Stuken holtz, of Nebraska City, visited over the weekend at the F. J. The American Legion picnic that was to have been held Sunday, October 1, in Spann's grove was held in the Legion hall because of the rain. A large crowd was in attendance and the Legion served the crowd hot beef sandwiches. Neil Da vis and James Kirkland com posed Jie luncheon committee. The Ulti Dulci and AVW club met at Mrs. Robert Martens' in a joint meeting after attending the Legion auxiliary dinner in a body Tuesday, October 3. Mrs. C. H. Adel, of the sixth district president of the Nebraska Fed erated Women's club, and Mrs. Bilsiu Robinson, ahainrruSn pf the American home of the gen eral Federation of Womens clubs, were guests of the club and overnight guests at the Martens home. Mrs. Robinson will be remembered by Atkin son folk as the former Neva At teberry. The 2 clubs held a joint dinner luesuay evening, voc.o ber 3, at the Claude Humphrey’s home. Mi's. Humphrey served Mrs. S. L. Sloan, of Spring view, is visiting his son, Charles Sloan, and family. The Golden Rod Garden club met with Mrs. Robert Martens Tuesday* October 3. Guests were Mrs. Fern Livingston, Clive Skrdla and Mrs- Joe Bal lon. All members were in at tendance and exchanged potted plants. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Schultz and daughter, Carol, took Jim Puckett, Larry Chace and Dick White to the Indiana-Nebraska football game at Lincoln Satur c’ v September 30. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Bouska and cons, Ronald and Donald, were in Norfolk Saturday, Septem ber 3, on business. Mrs. Robert Martens and daughter, Helen, and Mrs. Leon Beckwith were guests of Mrs. J>hn Warner Thursday evening, September 28. Mro. Anna Wilde Expires at 91— CHAMBERS — Mrs. Anne Wilde, 91, died Friday, Sep ember 29, at her home in Ne ligh. Funeral services were held there Sunday and burial was in the Chambers cemetery. Reverend Christenson, pastor of Lutheran church of Neligh, was in charge of services. Mrs. Wilde was an aunt of Mrs. J. W. Walter, of Chambers. She made her home at Amelia for 14 years with her sister, the late Mrs. Hulda Leirman, and daughter, Mae, and spent a few years in O’Neill.
