Jones-Jareske Rites in O’Neill Miss Mary Jones, daughter of Atkinson, and Leo Jareske, of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jareske, . st\, were united in marriage f Monday afternoon, August 28, at 2 p. m. in St. Patrick’s Cath olic church in O’Neill. Rev. A. A. Onak performed the cere mony. The bride appeared in a street - length dress of light blue. She wore a white hat and carried an anm boquet of pink and white carnations. Her sis ter, Mrs. Claude Hamilton, jr., was bridesmaid. She wore a street-length dress of rose and a white hat. Her corsage was pink and white carnations. Mr. Jareske wore a blue bus iness suit with a white carna tion boutonniere and his best y man, Claude Hamilton, jr., wore a brown business suit with white carnation boutonniere. A reception for the families and close friends of the couple was held at the Joe Jareske, sr., home immediately following the ceremony. The bride’s table was decorated in her chosen colors and centered with a 3-tier wed ding cake baked by her mother. After a short trip they will reside at O'Neill. Mr. Jareske’s sister and hus band, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hughes, of Abilene, Tex., and Mr. and Mrs- Joe Jareske, jr., and fam ily, of Boys Town, were here for the ceremony. Donna Rae Clements Weds In Omaha Miss Donna Rae Clements, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Clemens, of O’Neill, and James Paul Adams, of Omaha, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F a u d t, were united in marriage at St. Peter’s Catholic church in Om aha on Sunday, August 27. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Clements and Robert, Mr. and Mrs. Vince Sucky, Mr. and Mrs- Joe Bazel man and Connie Joe, Mr. and Mrs. Harden Anspach, Kieth and Juanita and Miss Joanne Burgess went,V>, Omaha to at > tend the nuptials. Students Leave For Duchesne -n Miss Barbara Birmingham, > daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh J. Birmingham, Miss Nancy Froelich, and Miss Kathryn GOIden, daughter of' Mr. ant/ Mrs. Maxwell J. Golden, will enter Duchesne college at Om aha on September 12. Miss Bir mingham and Miss Froelich are juniors, Miss Golden is a fresh man. All are St. Mary’s acad amy graduates. Larry Wayne Bourne Is Feted— A party was held at Ford’s park Friday, August 25, in hon or of Larry Wayne Bourne's coming birthday — September 25. The party was held a month early as the Bournes will be on vacation in September. A lunch wa served and Lar ry Wayne received many gifts. Eight little guests and their mothers were present. Lions Meet— The officers of the O’Neill Lions club met Monday morn ing. They decided to change the meeting to the second and four th Monday of each month. The next meeting will be held Mon day, September 10, after the summer recess. Luben-Potter Nuptials Sunday— Mr. and Mrs. Charles Luben, of Inman, have announced the approaching marriage of their daughter, Shirley, to Clarence . cotter, of O’Neill, on Sunday, Seotember 3. Rites will take place at Ged des, S. D. Farewell Party— The ONO club gave a far well party for Mrs. Robert Low ery, who left Wednesday to join her husband at his air force base in Washington. Mrs. Lowery received many gifts. RECENT O'NEILL BRIDE . . . Miss Shirley Schaffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. SchaffcT, and James Walk er were united in marriage by Rev. Ralph Gerber at First Presbyterian church at O’ Neill on Sunday, August 20. AN AUGUST BRIDE . . . Miss Arliss Joan Bly, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bly, of Amelia, and Richard L. Harley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Harley, of Cham bers, were united in marriage on Sunday, August 6, at the Lutheran church in Cham bers. Rev. L. A. Briday Shower— Mrs. Floyd Hershiser and Miss Bonnie Harmon entertained at a prenuptial shower for Miss Leona Hamilton on Thursday evening, August 24, at the Vince Sucky home. There were 14 guests present. A lunch was served after the bride-elect op ened her gifts. Miss Hamilton and Fritz Bel zer were married Wednesday morning. Merrimans Feted On Anniversary— Friends and neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Merriman sur prised them on Thursday eve ning, August 24, when they cal led to help them celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. They received many gifts, i Refreshments were served. Betrothal Announced— Mr. and Mrs. George Head wish to announce the approach ing marriage of their daughter. Betty, to John Harkin Noll, of Aberdeen, S. D., on Saturday, September 2. The wedding will take place in St. Patrick’s Catholic church. O'NEILL LOCALS Mrs. M. B- Mareelus and girls attended the Tri-County fair in Stuart Wednesday, August 23. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Sulliv an and daughter, Patty, visit ed over the August 26-27 week end with relatives in Ft. Dodge, la. Ralph Bligh, of Turnbull, Wyo., is visiting the Lorenz families in and around O’Neill. Mr. and Mrs. Mart Coyne, of Glendale, Tex., visited with rel atives here over the weekend. Miss Nora McAuliffe will leave Friday for Salt Lake City, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. George Peter son, of Columbus, spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Clar k. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Long and Mrs. Lloyd Collins and child ren visited friends in Burke, S. D., recently. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Larsen, of Cheyenne. N. D., spent Thurs lay and Friday, August 24 and 25, visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Collins. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Vaught, of Columbus, and Mrs. Fred Do derer and Kieth, of Oklahoma City, Okla., visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Wyant on Tuesday, August 29. Mrs. Raymond Schneider and children spent the weekend in Norfolk visiting Mr, and Mrs. Gerald Sabotka. Mr. and Mrs Alwood Weder and son, of Shatter, Calif., spent from Saturday until Wednes day here visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Culver. Jack Dailey and daughters visited in Omaha last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Will Crosby, of Chicago, III., spent Sunday and Monday visiting at the Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Davis home. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fetrow went to Norfolk Sunday, Au gust 27, to meet Mary and Nan cy, who have been visiting in Waverly, for 2 weeks.
