WCTU Meets At French Home PAGEI—The WCTU met with Mrs. Merwyn French Thursday afternoon, July 20, with 8 mem bers present. Guests were Mrs. Blanche Dorr, of California, Mrs. Elmer Trowbridge and Mrs. A. O. Weber. Mrs. Leonard Heiss led the devotions. Mrs . Rollie Snell presented the flower mission. Luncheon was served at the close of the afternoon. Other Page News Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Undine and family, of Sioux City, came Saturday, July 22, to spend a week at the home of Mrs. Un dine’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. O. Wood. Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Undine, who both had birthday anniversaries Sunday, July 23. celebrated them with a dinner at the Wood home. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Wil liamson, parents and grandpar ents oi Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Un dine. Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Myers, of Corona, Calif., came Sunday, July 23, for a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Smth. They were enroute to Illinois. The Smiths were friends of the Myers while they were all liv ing in California. Mrs. Sarah Adams, of Cham bers, spent from Tuesday, July 17, until Saturday, July 22, with her cousin, Mrs. Dora Town send. Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Townsend were Friday, July 21, dinner guests at the Leonard Heiss home. On Saturday they were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fleming, at Ewing. Miss Betty Simmons, who is taking nurse’s training at Grand Island, came Saturday, July 22, to spend until Wednesday, Ju ly 26, at the home of her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Sim mons. Mrs. Alta Lockman and Mrs. Gardner Gill and 2 sons, of Stu are, and Mrs. Rollie Snell, of Page, left Tuesday, July 25, for Cherokee, la., where they will visit Mrs. Snell’s and Mrs. Lock man's brother, John Julius, and other relatives. Linda Haynes, of O’Neill, spent a few days last week with her grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Gailen Miller and daughters, Dale, and Mar cia, and son, Jimmie, of Niobra ra, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Allen and family, of Page, were dinner guests Sunday, July 23, of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Finley. Marcin, and Jimmie, who had been visiting relatives here, re turned to their home with their parents. Mrs. Alta LccKman and Mrs. Gardner Gill and 2 sons, of Stu are. and Mr. and Mrs. J .R. Mr. and Mrs. George Fink entertained the following guests at a dinner Monday, July 24: Mrs. Tom Sinnard and Mrs. Wil lis Sinnard, of Grand Island; Mrs. William Mates and 2 sons, of New York City; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Snyder and Allen and William Zempel. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Snell re turned home Sunday night, Ju ly 23, from a week’s vacation trip. They visited Mrs. Snell’s brother, Guy Stevens, and wife at Scottsbluff, spent 2 days and nights with Mr. and Mrs. Es mond Weber and family, at Denver, Colo., and enjoyed fishing at McConaughey. Mrs. Hannah Stevens and daughter, Mrs. Blanche Dorr, went to Sioux City by bus on Tuesday, July 25, where they visited. They may visit other points in Iowa before returning home.
