Miss Jean Mullen An O’Neill Bride * • . - in an impressive double-ring ceremony Monday morning, June 5, in St. Patrick's Catho lic church in O'Neill, Miss Jean Mullen, daughter 6f Mrs. Mich ael Mullen, of Emmet, was un ited in marriage with Roman us Kaup, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J Kaup, of Stuart. Rev. A. J. Onak officiated at the nuptial high mass at 9 o’ clock. Gene Batenhorst and George Kohle, friends of the bride groom, served the Mass. Miss Kathleen Flood, of O’Neill, sang “Ave Marie” and “Just for To clfy.’” The brides gown of white sat in was fashioned with a sheer illusion yoke and off the shoul der neckline, fitted bodice and long, pointed sleeves. The skirt ended in a full train and her fingertip veil was held with a flowered t i e r a. She wore a double strand of pearls and carried a bouquet of white roses. Mrs Tony Kaup, sister - in law of the bridegroom, was maid-of- honor. Her gown was of nile green marquisette. She W(#e a matching green head piece and carried a colonial bouquet of pink and white car nations. Miss Juanita Kaup. cousin of :f e bridegroom, was bridesmaid She wore a gown of pink mar quisette and a matching pink > head pieo*. She carried a col onial bouquet of pink and white carnations. Both ladies wore rhinestone ear-rings — gift of the bride and bridegroom. The bridegroom, attired in a haze blue suit, was attended by his brother, Tony Kaup. as best man and Jim Mullen, brother of the bride. Little Miss Patty Dvorak, niece of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a floor - length dress of imago organdy and car ried a basket of mixed flowers. The mothers of the bride and brideroom wore corsages of pink carnations. VU 11 o’clock, a 3 - course breakfast was served the wed ding party and immediate rela tives at the M & M cafe. The bride’s table was centered with a 3-tier wedding cake. Also present at the breakfast were Mr. and Mrs. William Walton, of Crookston. and Mrs Guy White, of Casper, Wyo. Mrs. Kaup is a graduate of St. Mary’s class of 1948. She has been employed with O'Neill Photo for the past m years. Mr. Kaup is a graduate of j Stuart high school, class of 1947. j Since graduating he has been engaged in farming with his father- . I The young couple entertained their relatives and friends at a wedding dance, June 7, at the Siiuart auditorium. At present they will make their home with the bride groom’s parents. The young couple’s wedding day also marked the anniver saries of Mr and Mrs. Frank Weichman. Mr. and Mrs. Leon ard Olberding and Mr. and Mrs Roy Gilg. Mrs. Gilg, Mrs. Weichman. and Mrs Olberding are sisters of th brideroom. Municipal Band In Concert— Music lovers will hear a con net solo by Ted Lind berg and a vocal solo by Lois Harder, so prano. in the first concert of the season to be presented Sat urday night by the Municipal band. Richard Perry New Cubmasler— Cub Scout pack meeting was held Monday evening. June 5, at the O’Neill American Le gion auditorium. Nine dens were represented. A display, ‘Air Fun,” was shown. This included every thing pertaining to air craft which had been made by the cuhs. Richard Perry was appointed Cubmaster to fill Donald Gib son’s vacancy. Perry took ovft his duties with the Monday meeting. A Cub picnic will be held Monday, June 19, at Fords park, beginning at 6 p. m. Altar Society Reorganizes— St. Patrick’s Catholic church Altar society was reorganized Sunday at St. Mary’s gym. The following ladies were elected officers: Mrs. John Hickey, president; Mrs. John Shoemaker, vice-president; Mrs P. B. Harty, secretary, and Mrs. Ray Bosn,’ treasurer. The activity program far the year was given to 12 volunteer chairman who will each have about 30 ladies in her group. A count of all ladies single or married who are included this group will be taken Sunday at all Masses. The ladies of the parish are observing holy hour on June 16 at 3 o’clock.—the feast of the Sacred Heart.
