Conat-Martin
Nuptials Read
At an altar of cut spring flow
4 ers, Miss Leona Conat, daughter
. of Mr. and Mrs. John Conat, of
near Spencer, and Edward P.
Martin, son of Mrs. William
Martin and the late Mr. Mar
tin, were united in marriage
Monday. The 9 o’clock Mass
was held in Baker Catholic
church. Rev. Michael Condon,
of Spencer, officiated at the
double - ring ceremony.
The matron-of-honor was Miss
Joan Conat. a sister of the bride,
of near Spencer. Miss Judy Mar
tin, a sister of the bridegroom,
was the bridesmaid.
The bestman was Allen Mar
tin. Tony Conat, the bride’s
* brother, served as first attend
ant.
The bride appeared in a white
satin lace trimmed gown with
a train. The sleeves were point
ed at the wrists. Her fingertip
veil was held in place by a
tiara. She carried a bouquet of
red and white roses.
The matron - of - honor, Miss
Conat, wore a pink gown. She
wore a wreath of white
flowers in her hair. Miss Mar
tin, the bridesmaid, wore a blue
gown with a headdress similiar
to that of the matron-of-honor.
The bridegroom wore a blue
business suit. His boutonniere
was of roses. The bestman and
Ifirst attendant also wore bus
iness suits with boutonniers.
The bride s mother, Mrs. Lon
at, wore a black silk dress. Her
corsage was of red and white
roses. The bridegroom’s moth
er, Mrs. Martin, wore a bem
berg print. Her corsage was al
so of red and white roses.
The music was sung by the
church choir.
A wedding breakfast was held
for the immediate families fol
lowing the ceremony at the
home of the bride’s parents.
A reception was also held in
the afternoon at the home of
the bride’s parents. A four tier
wedding cake formed the cen
ter piece.
For her going away outfit,
Sirs. Martin chose a green and
blue silk dress and a green top
per.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Martin are
graduates of St. Mary’s acad
emy- Mr. Martin is employed
by the Northwestern Bell Tele
phone Company.
Upon completion of an ex
tended trip, the couple will re
side in O’Neill.
Piano Pupils
In Recital—
The piano pupils of Mrs.
Ralph Gerber presented an in
formal recital Friday morning,
at the manse to a group of par
ents and friends.
Those participating were:
Roger Tompkins, Sylvia Har
der, Karen Bridge, Jane Pet
e®en, Linelle Tompkins, Patri
cia De Bolt, Lois Harder and
Don Petersen.
At the conclusion, refresh
ments of cake and punch were
served.

Veteran’s hospital in Lincoln
with polio and can now walk
without crutches.

Club Week
Two representatives of Holt
county this week are attending
state 4-H club week that is be
ing held on the University of
Nebraska campus at Lincoln.
They are Micheal Boyle and
Alice Whaley, both of O’Neill.
Mrs. Frank Vanek, of Amelia,
is attending as a club leader.
Mrs. Beryl Damkroger, Holt
county home extension agent,
drove the representatives to
Lincoln.
Miss Twila Hicks ended her
fourth year of teaching school
in district 5 on Friday, May 26,
with a basket dinner at the
schoolhouse. Seventy - three
guests were present. A baseball
game was played in the after
noon.'Ice cream aYid cake were
served.
Mrs. Lee Wanser, of Fremont,
came Saturday to visit M^s.
Frank Cronk for a week. Mrs.
Wanser will return to Fremont
