That brings a sigh of relief from ma / ny of the St. Mary’s academy and O’Neil] high school kids The tension i s ali over for another year. And the hours of tedi ous practice have been well account ed for! The 2 schools of O’ Neill did ve ry well. From St. Mary’s Barbara there were Bennett ** ^eri' ors and 5 ( “excellents.” And O’Neil] high had 22 “superiors” and 2 “ex ceilents.” Both of the bands put on a 0 fine showing. St. Mary’s play ed Thursday night, April 13. When the Marians heard their “superior” read from the list fchey played the “Notre Dame Victory March.” Friday night the O'Neill public school band played, also receiving a “superior.'' j This makes the 12th consec- j utive year for receiving "su- i perior." In appreciation, we presented an Elgin watch to j Mr. George, our director. The big thing coming now is the United States Navy Band’s appearance in Norfolk in May. The O’Neill bands will go to the concert that will be given There are approximately 5 weeks of school left. And time flies so quickly that soon we will be out for the summer va cation. And really, I think spring must be here. Robins are hop ping about and the days get ting longer and warmer. But, of course, I’d better not say too much or we’Ii have an other snow storm. We all know and dearly love Nebraska wea ther. Hah. Ah, yes, spring . . . when a young man’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of fishing, yes, fishing. Oh well, girls, maybe we can learn to fish, too. That’s all for this week See you. REAL ESTATE TRANSFERS WD-Christ Madsen to M H Madsen & wf 4-7-50 9,500-NW'4 SEty - EMtNWV4 - NEV4 3, Twp 25 - NE>4SE'4 - WMsSEVi 34 - W14NEV4 - E^NWH 33-26-14.
