Wasson Farm
Home Burns
I ATKINSON — The recently
purchased farm home of Mr.
I and Mrs. Will Wasson was burn
ed to the ground Monday eve
ning, April 17. Mrs. Wasson
said they were not sure what
started the blaze, but thought
perhaps it started from a spark
from a bonfire.
The Wassons were doing re
pair work on the house before
moving in so there was no fur
niture burned. They had plac
ed some linoleum but were able
I to rsmove it from the house.
J They had been doing some
| cleaning in the yard in the af
ternoon and had burned some
1 trash but before they left they
thought the fires had been def
initely put out.
Because no one was at the
place when the blaze started
the Wassons are not definite
where it started either. Fire
men came frorm Atkinson but
high winds and lack of water
: hampered their fight to control
i the blaze.
