Lutherans Set For Broadcasts Missouri synod Lutherans are awaiting the 2 nationwide Luth eran hour broadcasts that will originate on Sunday, April 16, from the Norfolk city auditori um- * All was in readiness Monday for the program which will be broadcast by the American Broadcasting Company. The morning rally at 11 o’ clock will begin with reguiar services. The actual live broad cast begins promptly at 11:30. Dr. Eugene R. Bertermann, of St. Louis Mo., will deliver the broadcast sermon. The Seward Concordia choir of 62 voices will furnish singing. The afternoon rally wil, be gin promptly at 2 o’clock. Rev. Henry G. Hartner, of Denver, Colo., will deliver the sermon for the broadcast, which starts at 2:30 o’clock. Two mass choirs will sing These are composed of various congiegations in the Nor. folk area, the adult choir having about 240 voices and the child ren choir about 250 vioices. Rev. Ciyde O. Cress, pastor of Christ Lutheran church in O’ Neill, said ‘‘Many Holt county Lutherans wi l be attending the rally and the broadcasts. How ever, none will take active part in the program.” Missouri synod churches in the O’Neill region are: Christ Lutheran, O’Neill; Immanuel Lu theran, Atkinson; St. Paul’s Lu theran, Chambers; Immanuel Lutheran, Venus; Christ Luth eran, Lynch; Lutheran church, Orchard. j 2 New Members Join Southfork The 212 Southfork club met at the Gene Halsey home, Fri day night, March 31. The meeting was cahed to or, der by the vice-president, Eu gene Ermer. The minutes of the last meeting were read by the secretary, Donald Strong, and were approved The roll call was answered by giving a pointer on the care of the teeth. The 4-H {Hedge was repeated and then we sang songs. Plans were made for a party Friday night, April <14, at the school, district 212. Two new members joined, Har old Farrier, who is taking gar den and stocker-feeder, and Dar old Ermer, who is taking stock er - feeder. Demaris Strong, Marlene Er mer and Jennie Vee Halsey demonstrated the theading of a needle. Jeanene Backhus and Gary Holcomb demonstrated how to straighten a piece of cloth. Gail Holcomb gave a dem onstration on the use of hotcaps in the garden. We played out i door games. A nice lunch was served by 'Mrs. Halsey. There were 16 members and 15 visitors present.
