given that Loretto Enright has
filed her petition alleging that
Margaret Enright died Septem
ber 21, 1943, intestate, a resi
dent of Holt County, Nebraska,
seized and possessed of some
right, title and interest in and
to Lots 14, 15 and 16, in Block
1, Original Town of O’Neill,
Holt County, Nebraska.
That petitioner owns an un
divided one-third interest in
the real estate above described,
having derived title thereto by
inheritance.
The prayer of said petition is
for a determination of the time
of death, the heirs, degree of
kinship, and right of descent of
real property of said deceased;
that she died intestate, and
that there is no inheritance tax,
state or federal, due from said
estate or the heirs thereof.
That said petition will be for
hearing in this Court on the
20th day of April, 1950, at ten
o’clock A.M.

Council met as per adjourn
ment from meeting of October
4th, 1949. Present: Mayor Coyne,
and Councilmen Rooney, Ray
Hickey and McCarville. Absent,
Uhl and Corkle. At 2:00 p.m.
Mayor called Council to order.
Motion by Ray. seconded by
Hickey, that the Council proceed
to open bids on contract for new
outfall sewer. Motion carried
i The Council proceeded to
canvass the bids submitted, and
I the bid of Diamond Engineer
’ ing Company, of Grand Island.
Nebraska, was the only bid sub- j
mitted. This bid, being in ex- J
cess of the Engineer's estimate
for the work and materials.
Motion by Ray, seconded by
Hickey, that the bid of the Dia
mond Engineering Company, of
Grand Island, be rejected for
the reason that the same ex
ceeded the Engineer’s estimate
of cost of the work. The motion
being put to a vote, the same
was carried.
Motion by Rooney, seconded
by Ray, that the certified check
of the Diamond Engineering
Company, accompanying their
bid, be returned. Motion carried.
Motion by Rooney, seconded
by Hickey, that the City Engi
neer be authorized and instruct
ed to revise his estimate for the
proposed outfall sewer improve
ment, and submit a new esti
mate therefor. Motion carried.
Discussion was had with the
City Engineer concerning the
previous estimate placed by
him on the cost of the outfall
sewer improvement and the
matter of revision of the Engi
neer's estimates, and the Engi
neer submitted a revised esti
mate thereon.

weeks in the official city news
paper, and the time for receiv
ing bids be fixed as November
21, 1949, at 2:00 p.m. Roll call
vote on such motion resulted as
follows: Aye: Ray, Rooney,
Hickey and McCarville. Nay:
None.

be appointed to contact Ramsey
of the Civil Aeronautics of Lin
coln to see if any federal aid
can be obtained for use on the
City Airport. Motion carried.

by Corkle, that the City Attor
ney draw up an ordinance to
sell the land upon which the
house of G. O. Harper is situat
ed on at the City Airport. Mo

by Ray, to redistrict the City of
O’Neill into four wards. The
division points to be Fourth
Street North and South and
Douglas Street East and West,
with all of the people living
north of Douglas Street and east
of Fourth Street being in the
First ward. All persons living
north of Douglas Street and
west of Fourth Street being in
the Second ward, all persons
living south of Douglas Street
and west of Fourth Street being
in the Third ward and all per

500 Farmers Draw
1949 Ag Payments
April 15 is the closing date for
signing farm plans for the agr -
culture conservation program.
“Since signup meetings hav
been held, it is now the respon
sibility of each farmer to see
that he is signed,” according to
Harrv E. Ressel, chairman of
the Holt couny Production and
Marketing administration, wt
wish to call to your attention
that the county office will be
open on Saturdays up to and in
cluding April 15,” he added.
Checks on the 1949 program
are now coming into the county.
Over 500 farmers have been
paid in the last week. The re
maining payments are antici
pated at an early date, as there
are several hundred more that
are cleared for payment at this
time.
The past few days before
spring field work starts and
the roads have opened up in
most sections of the county
many farmers have been call
ing at the office.

where they had spent 4 days at
tending a Holstein dairy cattle
sale. Mr. Gibson purchased 4
head.

homesteader. Upon their return

clerk.
